Hi everyone,

I bought a strut bar from 27won and unfortunately during the install, I snapped a strut tower bolt. I was wondering what do you guys think would be the best way to proceed with the repair? I have not taken anything apart yet.

Fun story: A month ago I snapped two studs on the turbo / downpipe connection I'm sick of snapping stuff 😭

Edit: I followed the manual for the install, it said to torque these to 53-55 lb-ft. The bolt snapped way below that torque, I think it would've broken on its own.

Thanks and have a good day!

If that happened to me, I would replace the strut mount assembly. I never seen that stud sold separately.

I had a PRL and DC Sports bars. I didn't like how the nuts didn't thread all the way. Below is a photo of the PRL bar on my car. Now I don't have any front strut bar. FL5s have longer studs, so this not an issue.

The DC Sports bar came with new nuts and sat flush. Interestingly, the DC Sports strut bar instructions states 32 lb ft.

I had a sirimoto and a 27won strut bar and always torqued down the nuts to 55 ft/lbs no problem. Since you have to replace the strut mount I have a pair of new Whiteline offset strut mounts in the classifieds if you’re interested.

Thanks for the link and I don't like that the nuts don't thread all the way either I should've looked at that before buying it

Definitely a case of might as well lol. I'm in Canada, with the exchange rate, shipping & fees it'll probably be more expensive than to just buy it from unity but thanks for the offer!
