My sales rep double checked this morning with somebody regarding the email i received yesterday and this was his response:

“I was correct, you were on Honda's waiting list and it is now official they have now allowed us to actually place your specific order and in your name. Please do not hesitate to call if you have any questions and I will keep you informed as news regarding your Type R becomes available.”​

I guess I’m slowly moving in the right direction.

So I've called pretty much every dealer in Ontario.

Some dealers have zero clue what's going on. Other dealers are stating "Honda online" which requires a deposit and a lottery system.

I'm not sure if they quite have all the info yet tbh. Lots of upset sales people at lack of cars/info.

I did learn any dealer in Niagara falls won't sell you one unless you live down there.

Big gz to anyone who got one. We're talking less than 100 for 2023 easily in Ontario.

I think it's just a mess overall. Seems to be a lot of miscommunication happening between HQ and dealerships. Granted, that's just what it appears to be here, and we don't account for all the interested buyers.

For sure. I also think dealers thought they were gonna get 3-5/year a la FK8 so they took 6+ people in lines only to find out there getting 1-2 cars and now have to scramble for everyone above especially if they took deposits.

I don’t mean this in a negative way at all but this has to be the most positive post ive seen from you since I’ve joined!

I hear you on the it’s out of control part but my brain is still struggling to compute the fact that I can’t just walk into a dealership and buy what I want. Never in my life have I had issues getting a vehicle in the colour and spec I wanted and hear I am sweating bullets over a Honda Civic.

haha, none taken. I don't wear rainbow stained glasses in life. I tend to call it how things are and we all can see how fucked this shit is for everyone involved. 6 friends had deposits pretty early on. 4/6 are out of the running in the GTA.

I feel you man I couldn't help it either was literally losing sleep over it and I just couldn't help it... eventually one morning i said screw it ... if it's meant to be it's gonna happen if it's not meant to be other things or plans will fall in place (type S or grc)
and that's the morning i got the good news

Alright got an update from the most promising dealer/lead where I am #1 (btw guys this dealer made me number 1 last week) so don't give up hope keep blasting off emails to every dealer you can find in the country on google maps... you never know if a small town dealer happen to be getting one and you might just be their #1

I would like to know what he meant by production shipping schedule... if someone got insight to this... assuming its internal system... wish we had a few that worked in honda to give us intel like those US guys

Well for one this dealership is about 1300kms away from where i live... so walking in ... isn't really convenient I did want to get some paper work signed to make it all official...

may be do it over the internet or me flying in to do it and come back once everything is finalized on their end in terms of dates and accessories...

but sales rep sounds like he secured it for me with his GSM and marked as sold to me... but as he said in his email they will know more in a few weeks delivery schedule and i think that's when they would want me to sign papers....

Also i am in no rush to sign it ... in case someone ends up wanting RR and they offer me CW colour..

and I am not really thrilled about taking it mid winter so even if someone offers me their spot late Q3/Q4 2023 and they wanna take RR in Q1/Q2 Feb 2023 i am all game ...

but there is that part of me that just wants to get it asap and in any color just to secure one knowing how fortunate i am
