Carbon Fiber Antenna Cover Users

I had one on my type s and could swear I had a signal reduction using fm radio. I kind of want one for my type r but wondering if anyone using one is having the same results I had ?

Do a quick search for carbon fiber RF interference. Yes, carbon fiber can interfere with radio signals. Perhaps look for a fake CF covering of some kind?

Alternatively, cover all of your electronics and wiring in CF to see if your FL5 becomes the only FL5 to survive an EMP burst. Let us know how it works out!

I won’t put fake carbon on my vehicle but yes I did read up and saw it produces signal interference. I was just wondering other user’s experiences that may have it installed . Ty

I build RC cars for fun, we have to always route our antennas through outside of a carbon fiber body. You’d lose a lot of range with CF covering any antenna.

now on plastic body’s we can tuck the antenna inside and have no range issues.

So CF antenna covers are not recommended unless you don’t care to use the radio.

Same , love rc cars. I think I have more fun building them than driving them. Never had a carbon body on one though but many carbon parts.
