My procedure was to make sure valve was in the closed position at the start, remove old spring, install new spring, do the reset procedure, then reinstall actuator. I also noticed the increased spring tension when reinstalling but that didnt cause any issues for me.

Is the reset procedure just cycling on/off the ignition (no engine start)? When I put in the Hyundai spring I didn't do that and just started up the car so that may be where I went wrong. When I swapped back to the original spring I did cycle the car on/off first before starting which probably is the right way to do it.

That's correct! Ignition On/Off (no engine start) with the actuator removed. It will cycle and spin to it's home position within a few seconds then reinstall.

Quick update, couple of weeks in and still rattle free after messing around with the actuator and spring. Maybe reseating the spring and tightening everything down helped since I'm still on the original spring. I have the hyundai one as a backup so if the rattle comes back I'll try the new spring but so far so good.

I'm questioning if pulling the fuse then putting it back in multiple times might have to do something with it. My Hyundai spring is also rattle free for couple weeks. Been driving recently with fuse pulled valve open though.
