The body is level on the spoon springs.

I notice slight reverse rake on an FL5.. full tank maybe.

Fast forward to around 3:50.
I see, so I’m thinking the stock car is not level then and naturally has a slight forward rake. To get the car to be level, Spoon lowers the rear more than the front to even out the forward rake. With the body now level it introduces a visual reverse rake because the front fender arch height is actually greater than the rear (as Jomoto-San states in the video). Very interesting.

Is it just me or do swift springs seem to not lower as much as they used to?
Perhaps anything post 2024 at a rough guess. I too am in the pursuit for which springs to go with.

early photos of FL5s with swifts seemed to sit right on the tire where most now have an obvious wheel gap similar to the eibach pros.

This is helping. Now between pro-kit and H&R. Both seem good. Pro-kit seems to be a happy medium of performance, comfort and drop :hmm:

Do Swift springs require the bump stops to be cut? From what I've searched, Spoon does but H&R do not.

most have positive feedback on pro-kit and H&R.
Although, I have seen Spoon test their cars at buttonwillow raceway the whole year even at a blazing 107F.
Comfortable/daily purposes = pro-kit and H&R.
Track = Swift or spoon

Can anyone who has recently installed the Spoon Springs confirm that the rear sag is gone? I've heard that the FL5 specific version with the black insulators fixed the sag.

I would love to see some measurements from the ground to the top of the fender to see where it measures. Also curious on how the Pro Kit measures.

For reference my stock FL5 measures 26.25" in the front and 26.5" in the rear with tire pressure at 35F/33R.

@arcticdc5 posted the measurements from the ground to top of the fender in a different thread.

Front Left - 25 9/16"
Rear Left - 25 1/2"
Front Right - 25 9/16"
Rear Right - 25 9/16"

So that’s a drop of 11/16” (17.5mm) in the front and 15/16” (24mm) in the rear when compared to my stock measurements.

I get that results can vary, but still interesting that in this example Spoon’s stated 20mm drop all around doesn’t seem to be the case.

if anyone finds or can post the Eibach Pro Kit measurements I would love to see them.

EDIT: Found a video by LHT Performance on YouTube where they install Spoon springs on an ITS.
Beginning height was Front: 26 3/8", Rear was 26 5/8". After installing the Spoon springs it measured Front 25 7/8", Rear 26 1/8" for a drop of 1/2" all around. Now these springs hadn't settled yet when measured, but is another data point for those interested.

Found a video by LHT Performance on YouTube where he installed H&R Springs on his FL5.

Top numbers were with stock springs, bottom was with H&R Springs immediately after install so they hadn't settled yet. Still, looks like an even 1/2" drop which slightly different than advertised (H&R specs say the front is a bigger drop than rear, but in this example that wasn't the case, perhaps the front will settle lower than the rear?).

If anyone has the Eibach Pro-Kit measurements on an otherwise stock setup I would love to know.

Eibach recommends the rear camber control arms.

I ended up going with the Eibach Pro kit.
rides great. One thing I noticed is I had 2.0 degrees of negative camber in the rear. Car din’t feel as planted and stable going around corners at speed. After I installed a rear camber kit seemed to handle like stock or a little better.

What did you use for camber kit?

I ended up going with H&R because I wanted just a slight drop. I like the way the car looks now with some 20mm spacers all around. The ride quality feels about the same as stock, maybe slightly less harsh over rough roads. My only complaint is the springs are slightly uneven. I took measurements prior to my install and a few months after.

These measurements are from the top of the stock wheel rim to the bottom of the fender.

Stock measurements:
3 7/8” - Front Driver side
3 7/8” - Front Passenger side
3 6/8” - Rear Driver side
3 6/8” - Rear Passenger side

With H&R measurements:
3 1/8” - Front Driver side
3 2/8” - Front Passenger side
2 15/16” - Rear Driver side
3 1/16” - Rear Passenger side

So the driver side is 1/8” lower than the passenger side, and the rear is 3/16” lower than the front (which is 1/16” more than when it was stock). Is that within normal tolerances or did I get really unlucky with my springs? Had them professionally installed by the best shop in town.

Hmm. Maybe an install issue ? Mine are perfect. Then again I ain't measuring for a 1/10th of an inch difference between sides- lol. OCD is a bitch my guy.
