I don't track my car a ton as I have a purpose built Evo 8 race car, but was thinking about throwing one of these https://shop.lmtlsauto.com/products...p4MjOyRvB21-IK4e9ZuoUI77R9Sssa3jbXJ8nSyqoXqjD on my car. It looks like its a pretty high downforce application, I would assume without a reasonable front splitter this is gonna make the car more prone to understeer? not many people running this wing, love the way it looks, but wondering if the Type 2 is the better move?

A wing is a very personal choice, brother. Opinions are going to be all over the place. As far as installing the wing, then going to the track to drive your car. I personally think you are going to be fine. Of course, a splitter, such as the ones made by Racebred are the only way to go (in my opinion) to be effective on track. But everybody in the know understands that those have a eight week waiting period after you drop the coin to buy one (also not cheap). Therefore, you get a giant pass in my book. In addition, its a authnentic Voltex wing! Again, anybody in the know understands that it is an epic brand to be on your car, no matter what.

As far as how to perform on track, give it a shot. But also consider how often you are going to be at the track versus on the street. What design tickles your fancy more for what you are going to be doing most often?

At the end of the day, I used to care about what others thought. No longer. You do you.

They are fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP), I believe. They have been using those for a very long time. I have not heard or read of any issues with these as of late. But yes, they don't scream awesome as metal would. But perhaps they wanted something strong but lightweight because they rest of the paint? Not sure. If anyone has any insight on this, I would love to know. Information from Japanese manufacturers is so limited. Very frustrating.
