Looking to pick up an FL5 but my driveway is insanely steep. Have an ND1 Miata with the club aero and the front lip juuuust about makes it at the perfect angle.

Been searching forums etc. for info on ground clearance on the FL5 but it's mostly subjective comparisons. Wondering if anyone has measurements and/or pictures of the lowest point of the front they can share.

Much thanks!

Stock height its not bad at all, it has a strip of plastic near the engine cover that is the lowest part. I have lowering springs and only a handful of times has it ever scraped and that is me being super careful.

I have noticed that the front end on the FL5 is longer than some of my previous cars. There is quite a bit of car in front of the front wheels. There is also a plastic strip that sticks out in the front by the belly pan. I am currently stock height, and it is fairly common for me to scrape the little strip on the front entering driveways. I haven’t caught the actual bumper yet, but I drive carefully as I am used to driving lowered cars.

I have scraped that plastic piece that hangs down leaving my driveway… I believe one review on YouTube mentioned that it’s very easy to replace, almost like a tear away visor.

My 2016 Civic EX-T would do the same thing exiting my driveway unless I was at the perfect angle.

I had a '16 Club lowered on Progress springs, the FL5 stock has more clearance. I have the AFD lip and just barely, barely scraped for the first time recently on a pretty bad dip/driveway entrance. Stock it's not really a concern IMO.

The front air damn is almost exactly 5" from the ground.

I have measured this because I can scrape going up my driveway unless I take it at an angle and wanted to make sure if I lowered that it would only be that part scraping.

With swift springs it would be about 4" from the ground which is pretty low but manageable.

Would you happen to have any links/sources on how to replace that plastic piece? DE5 owner here, I scraped that piece and immediately bought a replacement, trying to find a how-to for install
