So I’m in the middle of swapping my LPFP, and ran into a road block. Does anyone have the proper part number for the tool that removes top hat/fuel ring for the 11th gen Type R?

It appears that my fuel pump is a different design which only has two connections on top, compared to the usual fuel pumps that have three connections like the FK8 or even the DE5 surprisingly.

I have the non-Honda tool 24398 by OEMTOOL, which did not work with the fuel ring since it is slightly smaller than the tool itself. It’s is also the cheaper alternative for the Honda version 07AAA-TBAA100, Assuming these tools specifically only work with fuel pumps that have the three connections on top, not two like mine.

Any guidance from FL5 owners who swapped out theirs already is much appreciated.

Maybe a rubber strap wrench? Is the black part simply a cover where the ring is underneath?

Yes, the rubber on top is simply a cover for protection from dust or debris. The black ring is still underneath it. My apologies, I should’ve taken a picture with it off.

If the ring has ridges on the outside edge, you can use two large flathead screwdrivers (one on each side) to try and rotate it loose. A rubber mallet also helps. Also mark it with a permanent marker before removing. That way you have an alignment mark when reinstalling.

I used a cheap adjustable 3 point adapter and only connected 2 points

I didn’t know there were adjustable ones, on the top of your head, do you remember what brand or where you picked yours up? Thankfully I’m in no rush, my dyno calibration is about a month away.

Haha I have nothing too crazy, stock internals, typical bolt on upgrades, bigger turbo, less restrictive intake manifold, and upgraded fuel system paired with CANFlex.

But just want to say thanks for the help and also sending the link for the tool. I was able to safely remove the ring without any damage and finish last piece of the puzzle 🫡
