Hey guys. Have this high pitch sound you might describe like a super charger whistle or even a tea kettle. Happens around 5000 RPM with WOT pulls only.

Current Build:
2025 civic type R
100% stock internal
Stock clutch, stock transmission
27WON Kuro+
27WON high flow catted down pipe
Eventuri intake
PRL inlet
PWR intercooler, PRL piping
27WON exhaust
Full race hpfp
Dw300c lpfp
Hondata 2000cc injectors
Hondata canflex
Hondata flashpro

Spoke with a few in the community who have heard same sound with similar builds. Anyone else dealing with this or know where it’s coming from? Is this normal with these builds/stock frame turbos?

Sounds like maybe air being pulled in or pushed out of a very small opening. Maybe some boost leak? I'd be curious not about the RPM but about the boost levels when you hear it.

Hey appreciate the reply. The mechanic that did all my work also thought it might be a boost leak, possibly a loose charge pipe. Definitely going to check all connections. Interestingly enough I sent data logs to my tuner who said everything looked good. Another FL5 guy said he heard that noise during every WOT pull for 2 years and also thought he had a boost leak but came to the conclusion that the sound has something to do with these stock frame turbos. Idk it’s a little annoying so will continue to investigate before settling with it.

I’ll make note of the boost level when it starts.

On the FL5, VTEC kicks in at about 5000RPM, possibly related.
