I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on the Jailbreak. Maybe what mods you have and the difference from before and after it was installed. I personally have a De5 and been dying to do it but patiently waiting and hoping they come my way someday as I don't want to mail my ecu out.
I flashed to Phearable Stage 2 and drove on it for the first time today. Holy hell. It transformed the car. Magnitudes beyond the Hondata base tune. Car is completely stock otherwise in terms of power mods. I ran the 1.5R tune on my Si, but it didn’t make this much of a difference. The closest car that I can compare it to that I’ve driven is a Camaro SS. That sounds crazy, and they are different in lots of ways obviously, but for power it feels damn near to me. Just do it. Don’t look back.

Just ran the numbers. I’m not crazy. Power to weight and lbs/ft lbs is basically dead on with a Gen 6 Camaro SS. I was not expecting it to feel like that, and I’ve driven tuned cars before.

It really is that big of a difference yes.

Next step for me is ethanol and stage 3.

Yup Phearable Stage 2 here on a mostly stock car it's fantastic. Also used their tune for my FK8 they do a great job.

Pics from the Hondata Austin jailbreak when I was there briefly:

OP. Not sure if we met at the event.
Saw you posted some sweet pics of my car and was like wow that wheel gap was big. 😜
Got the Eibach ProKit and sway bar on now. Huge difference.

This post was very insightful. Thanks for the comparison. As a Chevrolet guy myself, previously owned a 2014 Chevrolet SS and a 2023 Chevrolet Camaro SS 1LE. I know that feeling behind the wheel of these 2 cars very well. Even stock, those V8's boom with torque in the low range and they will put your head back against the seat rest. So, by you comparing that feeling after getting your Type R tuned makes me want to get mine tuned ASAP lol. I've also owned a 2020 WRX fully bolt on + e-tune and I never could get it to feel as jumpy as my camaro did.

I want this. Do they have a schedule or something for “coming to your town” events or what? Im super unfamiliar with the process but I’d love to get my car squared away with this tune.

Follow their social. It seemed like they were having some trouble getting enough preregistrations to justify a few events in the later summer/fall. Not sure what plans for 2025 are. You can mail your ECU for jailbreak. Phearable, IMW/TSP do it. The jailbreak events are convenient but also decent amount of cost for Hondata to fly guys, rent hotel rooms, and book a conference room (which is how they avoid getting hassled by hotel for taking over parking lot).

Or you can always get a group of R’s in your area and I can come and do the jailbreak for you guys.

I love that I’ve only seen 3 while driving mine the past few months since purchase but that wouldn’t be worth it for y’all. Maybe there’s more in NM than CO

Yeah it has to be at least 10 cars to make it worthwhile.

I saw a SGP FL5 on US-50 when I was heading to Canon City last month. I saw it when I was going and leaving. I believe it was the same car.
