Wow! The emotions got de-escalated in this thread pretty quick... Some humor is good medicine indeed.

With my plan incorporated I’ve had the same results. The only time I got door dings or scratches was parking in the eye of the tornado surrounded by a combination of ignoramuses and jeoulsy. I’m glad your plan has worked out for you though 👍🏻
You just walk more.

I’m sure they thought nice ! Another car lover.
I do the same thing I’ll park as far away as possible and walk. Well worth it to
Me . This was my trip to Home Depot the other day and parked way off from the front doors on the side of the building with a nice little walk 😆👍🏻👊🏻

This is the only way. I recently sold a car from '09 that didn't have a ding or scratch on it because this is how I treated it. It would have been beat up parking between cars here.

It only takes one careless adult or a kid swinging a door open.

My family knows to expect an extra walk through the parking lot when we take the Type R or Evo.

But yeah if we see something cool I'll park a few spaces away from them if they're also out in the back 40. Always within the lines, of course lol

I did this about a month ago at a brewpub after having my 2024 CTR for about a week - backed in against the curb where the lot ended. Came out 45mins later and there was a Hyundai Veloster N parked beside me. My buddy who was with me was a bit irked about it. For me, it was a compliment: game recognize game. I knew they would be careful opening and closing doors so it didn't bother me.

Sometimes it’s just luck of the draw if you get someone next to you that considerate and respectful or someone that doesn’t care and just flings open there door. A Paintless dent removal tech told me one time years ago that your better off Being closer so the door doesn’t have more room to gain momentum when hitting your car. Again I’d rather just not park next to anyone and give them the option to hit my car and be at their mercy when at all possible .
I like to call it defensive parking 😆

Honestly, for folks with full PPF- yeah why try to take the chance? You'd have to repair the dent, AND replace the PPF. A lot of scratch to leave to chance.

I don't have PPF on the doors, and I don't think my car is a Ferrari. I park wherever I can find a spot.

Whether it’s a Ferrari or not some people care if they get door dings . But everyone’s different and if you care more about the most convenient parking it’s your car and your choice 👍🏻
We’re I choose to park I look at like preventative maintenance lol.

I ppfd the doors just so some hypothetical jackass who would try to key my car would get frustrated lol. Full blown Muntz!

Been driving for 25+ years, and have had one door ding. But whatever helps you sleep at night!

I remember many years ago maybe 25 and 1/4 😝 years ago.
I took my GF to the store and I had a 71 triumph TR6 factory hard top black rag top . Just had it painted and the British flags put on the rear fenders. Anyway she just needed to run In real quick and get something so I grabbed the most “convenient “spot nice and close for her and I waited in the car. Well here comes this little old lady from Pasadena lol in this old beat up Caddy and parks right next to me . I’m watching in my side mirror as she flings open her door and my car rocks side to side 😳 as her door slams into my car . I get out and there is a nice dent in my door . I confront her and she starts yelling at me saying she may be old but she is not blind and didn’t hit my car. I just shook my head I actually felt bad for her and got back in my car 🤣.
Since then I never park were it’s convenient and yes I sleep much better and so do my cars 🍻
