People are forgetting that the civic ST is 32k and a loaded Integra ASpec is only 5k more at 37k.
So the TypeR is 10k more than the ST. So let's go with 47k TypeS which is 10k more than the Apsec

$57,000? That's quite a jump...

I was thinking more like $47-49k
Eh, Type R is 50% more expensive than the SI....so using that ratio to car 50% higher than the 39,000 price point of the Aspec puts it around $57,000.

Do we know for sure this is a Type S or Type R Integra? If Type R would be interesting. And I don’t think this thing gets more HP than CTR unless It’s badged a Type R. The TLX Type S only makes only 355 hp there not gonna have it almost the same.

Ya there is no way this thing will have more HP than the CTR unless it is an Integra Type R. Then no one would by the TLX Type S, they would cannibalise sales.

I don't think it will be that simple and I seriously doubt it will cost more than $46K MSRP. Here are few things to think about.

- Type-R, unlike the Si, has a lot of bespoke performance parts and not all of them will be in the ITS.
- Integra A-spec tech is basically fully loaded so it has some "luxury" features that the Si doesn't come with.
- M235i, CLA35, S3 all start at mid $40K range and all of them have AWD.
- MDX-S and TLX-S are not based on the top trim of their regular models.
- Still, they don't cost $10K more than those mid tier trims with regular engines.
- Golf R and S3 are priced similarly. (S3 is less powerful than the Golf R tho)

Less than or equal to power to type r. Pricing +5k to type r = $49k before ttl and adm if any

less performance than type r but more posh

That’s the case with Golf R and S3, except it’s $1,100 difference not $5k.

Both brands are missing the cult following and the cars are missing passion / soul and versatility.

Nobody looks a a golf r and says”damn wowits a golf r!!!” and nobody looks at an s3 and says “i want that”.

Acura has already said they are not working on anything that’s not FWD for the Integra, they won’t do any more hybrids, and that Type R will be a Honda brand exclusive, Type S an Acura brand exclusive. Don’t expect anything other than a Type S FWD pure ICE Integra.

Anyone who's really thinking the Type-S is AWD is really just hoping on a prayer. Putting AWD into the Integra isn't what an Integra is and financially it's a huge waste of money. We know Honda has said the next gen Civic is going to all be hybrid/electric next generation so the chassis next generation is going to be designed around housing batteries and electric motors. Modifying the Integra/Civic chassis to accommodate a driveshaft and rear differential and suspension redesign for a lifespan of 3-4 years for a single Type-S trim model is just financially silly. Also there's no manual available for the AWD drivetrain so if they want the Type-S to be a manual (or DCT) Honda would have to make one from scratch, again with a lifespan of 3-4 years. Neither one of those is happening.

Even though most people won't like it, the most likely Type-S is simply an A-spec with a lip kit, maybe some interior trim add ons, a small tech package and the Accord 2.0t 252hp or the TLX/RDX 272hp motor paired with the CTR manual transmission. Price it in line with the low end of the TLX ($39-42k) for slight overlap of pricing of the only two cars in the Acura lineup. Won't be class dominating but need to use what Honda has available as new parts aren't likely incoming for the single trim for a single generation before everything changes for the jump to hybrid/electric.

Whatever, dont bother calling it a type s unless it does at least mid 5s 0-60.
Noted already on the acura forum, the tires on it are all season..

They will probably offer a performance wheel option like the TLX TypeS does if you want summer tires.

If it's manual, it'll be similar transmission & engine as Type-R. It's going to be an awesome comparison with Type-S vs Type-R (win/win for Honda). However, Japanese ego might get hurt if Type-S comes out ahead...especially if volume production makes it much less expensive then Type-R.
