I was checking on youtube but didn't find anything. Do you have any videos driving or in car? With all the engine work you had done, intake, new cams etc. would be fun to hear the difference.
I don't yet. I'm planning on doing more videos showing the performance side of it once I install a few more mods. Also will be uploading track footage starting in Nov.

I'm now a master tech at installing and uninstalling the passenger side motor mount on these cars. 💀 I've unbolted, retorqued, readjusted this thing 4 times now. Reason I had to put myself through this torture was because someone on my IG was nice enough to tell me I installed the bushing the wrong way and that's why it was touching....It's not designed asymmetrical.

So yeah even though I used the Wunderladen 10th gen install video I 100% skipped over the part of Austin explaining the bushing must be oriented a certain way. FAWK.

Anyhow....problem solved and since I had to unbolt stuff around the mount I decided to measure what the bolt specs are.

For anyone that wants to upgrade their hardware to whatever here's the specs of these bolts....

Shit I just realized I'm going to swap out the bolts that are used to connect the mount to the motor in a few weeks. FML.

Met up at 7am to get some coffee and head to the Falken Friends & Family meet in Tustin, CA. I posted some of the wheels I liked in a fever dream style on my IG but here's a size comparison shot to a NB2 Miata and a widebody 964 911. I miss my gt3 whenever I see my friend's 964 with my cutoff Marlboro banner I made for our cars.

Well well well....it finally showed up. ;) The SBX Performance GESI catted downpipe. Like many others earlier in the year I had a Two Step one on pre-order but the delivery date kept getting pushed back due to unforeseen issue so I eventually canceled my order because this one was nearing release.

Originally I was supposed to be in the first batch but Tommy got me mixed up with another Justin during shipping. Fast forward a month later and I have to say this thing visually lives up to the hype. In hand it feels amazing. Welds are spot on. 😬;). Packaging was double boxed with packing paper and foam. Also came with individually bagged hardware and a parts list sheet so you can double check everything.

On with the photos:

The whole reason I decided to go crazy on the motor was that I learned this is the new standard of high flow catalytic converters....and that it'll pass the sniffer smog test! No more having to do special smog when the time comes. Sorry to my hookup. 🤫

Awesome write up and you should have gottent his a month earlier oops my bad LOL but hopefully all that went away when you opened the box! I really tried to bring something different to the market. I am not a fan of China casting these downpipes. I could become a millionair if i did but IMO like you said its a passion project that took a year to do. Had to find the right guy to hire to weld this bad boy up! Thanks for the update and keep us updated good or bad I need feedback!

Do you offer thermal coatings for these?

Not yet! Pretty much customers have been getting it done themselves. My opinion its too expensive of a downpipe to add another few hundred when 95% of the peope ordered a downpipe blanket. I couldnt find a good company near here to do it tbh....still looking

SBX Gesi Downpipe has been installed! I'm going to run it with the stock lower heat shield for now and record some temps and then I want to try my hand at doing an inconel wrap to see how much the temps drop.

This being my third time doing a downpipe install on a k20c1 I was met with some good ol' trouble. Snapped a bolt on the heat shield. Of course it'd would be the longer one. I should have done that one first....was the last one and I was using my impact at the lowest torque but I'm sure the bolt was going in at a slightly off angle due to it being the last one and the shield was needing to flex a bit to match up with all the holes.

Take off the usual.....

Everytime I see the oem downpipe I think of some roided out muscle head causing that ugly shape where the O2 sensor goes. 🤡

I already had snapped that lower left bolt but the tension from the shield saved it for the photo op.

I spent 20 minutes looking for my drill bits but I have no clue where I put them....last time I used them was when I installed the Cleib lip. FML.

And then I got the wrong gasket...twice. I was given 2 gaskets both exactly the same. They seem to be the front to mid pipe gasket. OEM doesn't have one but I know all the aftermarket companies supply one. I already reached out to Tommy @SBX Performance and he's sending me out the correct one. In the meantime I can get the gasket to fit onto 2 of holes which should be fine.

Went out to break in the downpipe. 😂 Did smell nice when I got back home and popped the hood.

Headphones recommended....it's just dashcam footage but the audio is decent enough.

Pull 1

Pull 2

Need an updated tune but first impressions and thoughts....I need to drive it more but from just the 2 pulls I can tell the car is nearing the limit on 91 but also that it'll be perfect on track with a 91 map. I'm still running the oem fmic too. Was holding off on removing the bumper until I had couple of mods that I could knock out at once with the bumper off since I keep reading how it's kinda of a bitch to put back on perfectly. I bought extra oem side brackets incase I mess up the ones that came with the car.
