Took my baby in for the steering recall and the OBD reader that I use with the TrackAddict app will no longer connect. It worked well before the recall fix. The Bluetooth connects but will not connect to the ECU. I purchased a replacement and it shows the same problem. The BT connection to the fast GPS module works Ok. My OBD scanner works Ok, so it's something specific to the module that I'm using.

Anyone out there using a BT reader that still works after the recall was completed? I *think* that a software update was installed but was not noted on the service record.

I think this is a case of coincidence and not cause. The steering recall is external hardware parts only

The latest recall procedure shouldn't need an OBD2 connection, unlike the original procedure specifying steering recalibration.
However, the dealer may have connected the OBD2 to look for codes and data. Recording data is unethical in my opinion, but I'm sure this happens.
I have an OBD2 port blocker installed, so it will be an interesting conversation once the service writer asks me for the key (when I get around to the steering rack recall).

Found the problem. My TrackAddict app on my phone was apparently corrupted. I had uninstalled and did a fresh install with no luck, same problem. This time I did the uninstall, shutdown the phone, did a fresh install. Bingo, this worked. I'm guessing some type of memory corruption that was cleared by the shutdown.
