There's a valve cover on Mikstore that I desperately want. The engine bay right now looks so boring and cheap. The problem is, I'm under factory warranty. Mikstore claims that it's an original Honda part, so I'm wondering if I could convince the dealership to put it in for me? Seems like if I put it in myself it would void the engine part of the warranty at least.

As long as the cover is a genuine Honda part with new Honda gaskets, this should not be a warranty concern. That assumes the new cover is installed correctly.

The Honda cover has extensive internal baffles to reduce oil in the PCV system. I'm guessing this is the reason the aftermarket doesn't sell non-Honda covers.

I’m guessing it’s just an OEM cover that’s painted. Should not be a warranty issue

Don’t even go to the dealer for it. If you ever have a warranty issue and they look at it, tell them it’s OEM painted.

The engine currently does not have a valve cover. It didnt come with one. Currently it's straight plastic around the engine, but this part I'm looking at is metal that's been cerakoted. Which is why I'm actually a bit skeptical that it even is a genuine honda part, although I've bought from Mikstore before, and theyre reliable.

The 11th Gen Civic the OEM valve covers are plastic. The Mikstore covers are OEM covers painted.

There are plenty of turbocharged cars that do not struggle in extreme hot temperatures. The stock FL5 is well rounded overall but some components need to be upgraded to increase thermal efficiency based upon outside conditions as well as driving style/habits/expectations. Modern vehicles such as the FL5 migrated to parallel coolant flows where the system overall is less effective as compared to divorced coolant flows as used in the past.

Yea, it's Cerakoted plastic, like TSP sells for the 2.0.

If you're just looking to add color, you can always paint yours or buy a 2nd OEM valve cover from a Honda parts retailer for like $100 - $150 and paint that one or get it painted.

Did you check the shipping? Because they are overseas and shipping can be pretty high. So way more than $350. Just buy a new one from Honda and paint it.
