P0299 Turbo Inlet Gasket leaking

Code popped after hard pull in 2nd gear getting on the highway.. grabbed 3rd and no boost. Best it builds to is -1.5. Dropped bumper and all couplers for charge pipes are tight. No apparent boost leaks.. thinking wastgate is stuck open. Disconnected battery, code cleared but boost did not return. Tuned on Phearable, FBO stock turbo.

John at Phearable suggested to get a pressurized smoke test ran. Did that right away and found the turbo inlet gasket to be leaking at the bottom. Have new gasket ($6, got two just in case) on order from dealer, picking up tomorrow.

Anyone else have experience with no boost condition from a seemingly small pre-turbo leak?

100% yes, very similar loss of boost pressure here previously troubleshooting til the cows come home, at the end of the day i pulled the air box and had to reseat silicone piping north of the charge pipe on the throttle side and had to pull the turbo inlet and replace the gasket. i also bought two gaskets from the local honda shop, fun fact though they do not fit the PRL inlet very well. this is on PRL everything. when it was happening car was just pulling slow as fuck and if i would hold throttle to the point where you would think boost would be maintained you could watch the pounds slowly drain out on the read out. after checking the silicone sleeves for charge pipe and replacing gasket issue went away 100%

Yeah I wasn’t so lucky. Turbo bearing seized from over spin condition. Replacement going in on Monday.

dang. i run this thing pretty fkn hard i get a little nervous about bearing seize tbh as well sometimes because of how hard i run it. hopefully my cooldown period laps are doing the trick only time will tell. im driving it low rpms just enough to push air past the components every time after i run it hard to circulate cooler oil to the turbo components
