Has any one else looked at their pinch welds and been concerned about missing paint/ just looking awful? I have 400 miles on my FL5 I lifted the car once to put wheels on, and assume the car was lifted for it's inspection at the dealer, but has anyone else noticed paint chipping off of their pinch welds? I'm trying to keep this car mint for as long as possible and this is driving me crazy. Any suggestions on how to keep them from rusting/ keep them nice moving forward?

Thanks!

I'd say this is to be expected here, I've always considered it to be a normal and acceptable wear point since it is by design a tool contact point.

This is standard fare. You're placing metal on metal, there's no other outcome. If you're concerned about it I suggest using pinch weld side frame rail protectors when you jack up the car. They sell them on Amazon. Unless you never take your car to a shop you will run into this issue again when they put it up on a lift.

It’s there to be used and has been. Worry about ww3 or something. 👀

Yeah, if you take the car to a shop, it’s just going to happen.

If you DIY everything, all you have to so is put something strong, but softer than metal, between the jack and the pinch weld. I’ve heard of people using a small piece of wood. You can even use a folded up rag. They make rubber pucks for this sort of thing too, so obviously some people care about keeping their jack points in nice shape…just not on this forum.🤣🤣🤣

Yeah I guess it’s crazy to try and preserve a car that I love… this is the last generation of ice type r so if you think in 10 years these will be easily replaced with your rusted out pos you’re dreaming bro… enjoy your self driving Prius

I was told it's falls under near exotic levels by my sales rep at Honda dealership; very limited production!

It looks like you used that weld as a lifting point...it's ok even though you will say that u didn't......lol...I don't have that problem and I've had my fl5 for a year and a half already.
