I've seen a few threads around here and on reddit where folks are missing screws after a while. I don't think the thread locking compound that came pre-filled on these screws are enough. I added some locktite-blue during my install and have been safe so far.

I check every time I open the hood.

The correct screw specs are M5x0.80x16mm. We made the bolts longer. The issue with the 12mm is that the threads did not go deep enough to get the loctite to bite in the threads.
When did you make this change? Curious to know if my unit shipped with the newer screws. I bought mine in October of 2024.

The change was made early Sept 2024. We released the TSB in October, but by then we were putting the new bolts in the kits. Older stock may have the original bolts, so it never hurts to check. The torque spec was also incorrect, making it easier for the original bolts to back out. The TSB is below. DM me your email, & I will get you a free invoice for the updated kit just to be safe.

We are working on updating install guides, product descriptions, & photos across our site, so this will all be fixed.

Too funny! I just opened my HVI box and was starting to assemble the MAF housing/filter box and found the screws way too short. I did some measuring and thought 5m X 16mm was the best size. Looks like you guys are already aware of that!
I will send an email for replacements.

Shoutout to PLR for a great customer service experience. My HVI kit came with the short screws that people have had issues with. I emailed them on Tuesday for a set of replacements as per the instructions a few posts back in this thread. The correct screws showed up this morning! I’m very satisfied with the whole experience. Thank you PRL for recognizing the mistake and making good on it!!

Chiming in to shout-out PRL as well. I picked up the HVI when I got my FL5 and haven't installed it yet. Reached out to PRL and that same day had the screws in the mail. Great customer service. Shit happens, it's how companies handle it that matters.
