Can anyone quantify this for me?
R Mode -> Rear brake vectoring will increase rear pad wear
R Mode One press VSA - >>>>> ????
R Mode VSA/TC Long press fully off >>>>>>????
Any mode + pedal dance --> Rear vectoring disabled.

Is there a difference in rear pad use between traction one press and traction long press fully off?

Update:
In non R modes, the rear brake assist is less intrusive, but will still burn rear pads a lot
VSA one press or long press in R mode makes no difference

Pedal dance is the only way to disable the rear brake assist.

I've ritualistically used the pedal dance before any hard driving at all. Countless autocross runs and one track day at a 8/10ths pace, I replaced my rear pads at 22k miles and could have gotten at least another 3k out of them.

FWIW I have a DE5 but the physics still must apply to the FL5.

I leave everything on. I've done about 10 ish track days, but don't want to risk anything when I push it on track. I just replace the pads on my own more often.

I had an FK8 before so I have ironed out the process. I just use an Autel to retract the EPB piston, then compress, and replace. No disconnecting required the entire assembly can rest on the control arm

I really can’t think of any reason to leave it on at the track in terms of safety. If you’re going for lap times, maybe the rear torque vectoring could help.

colour me noob, but what is the "pedal dance" to totally disable the traction control..I am interested. I use the short tap to moderately disable the system, but my front and rear brakes are done at 20000 miles.

I honestly can't imagine leaving the "assists" on while on track. They are so damn intrusive.

I might just be being facetious but I personally feel like you're introducing MORE risk by leaving them on. IMO they make the car behave unpredictably- which is the last thing you want in a track setting.

But maybe that's just me.

Have you tried driving with just a long press on R mode? Reduces a lot of that power reduction in lower gears, also keeps the rear vectoring on for the brakes from what I understand. You get increased rotation with the added benefits of traction being off
