I am looking for someone in Virginia who can assist me with rerouting the battery cables and box to the trunk of my car. I would like to mount it in the spare tire area beings that there is no spare tire. If someone possibly can help me out that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Curious did you measure the battery height compared to the spare well height? I'm curious if the trunk floor board will be able to sit flush to the floor or if the battery will prevent it from going down. Also you'll have to run a vent hose to the exterior of the car. You don't want trapped flammable hydrogen gas floating around 🔥.

Easier to swap in a LFP battery if weight savings is the goal.

Most cars with rear mounted batteries are rear drive and need weight back there.

Remember copper cables running fore-aft will be heavy and expensive. You'll need heavier gauge than OEM to account for voltage drop in long cables under high amp load.

In this age of computer control, I wonder if Honda, like my BMW, has a way to know the ohm or other identifier of the present battery connection. If it does, then extra wire, resistance or other identifier will tell the car not to use the " noted" part until all "factory" identifiers are in place..I once rewired my BMW to install a speaker, and the ECU shut me down till I removed the offending part, a speaker.

It does, but it's not as picky like a BMW. If there was something that the ECU notices as out of spec, it'll affect the engine idle start stop system first. If there was a drastic change, then the ABS starts complaining.

I would go lithium for weight, tender wires for convenience of charging, and a battery kill switch for convenience of disconnect if needed before relocating to the trunk.
