Really? Are you sure *all* can be turned off permanently and not have to be turned off each time you start the car?
Okay I just went and checked:
  • Collision mitigation will turn back on every time you turn on the car
  • Lane departure, blind spot monitoring, and rev-match all stay off until you turn them back on yourself
  • The CTR does not have auto start/stop
So overall not too bad :)

Thanks for confirming. What’s funny is that on my GRY, it’s the opposite. You can only disable pre-collision system permanently, but the other assists have to be turned off each time you start the car.

Ironically, to me, the pre-collision on the GRY is the most dangerous one of them all. It will trigger even with a biker to my side. Nearly caused an accident several times.

Does it just slam on the brakes automatically? Yeah that would be terrible if it was too sensitive...

Yeah, pretty much. It overreacts when somebody gets close, usually a pedestrian or bicyclist. The thing is, even if you can see them approaching from the side and rely on the razor-sharp brakes to stop, it'll interfere regardless. I hate it. I had to turn it off because it does more harm than it helps.

In a stroke of the worst luck ever, I got a 2024, and it ALSO has this exact same problem my 2023 had. LMAO.

Surely it’s a coincidence?

Surely I can't have luck this bad?
Might be a bad batch of the camera module, ask the dealer to replace it?

Wtf lol that's wild. Was the original issue part of why you upgraded?

I wanted to circle back and tell everyone that I’ve figured this out.

I’ve spoken to the guy that bought my last Type R, and he’s never seen this problem! That was confusing to me, because it happened to me so often.

Well, here’s the fix: Don’t be in a hurry.
That camera is sensitive when it calibrates. I’m on a slight incline, so I’ll start my car, clutch in, and roll out of my garage, kind of all in one motion. The camera does not like this! It wants about 5 seconds to calibrate. If you don’t give it this, it’s going to complain at you until you come to a stop for about five seconds, so it can calibrate.

Glad you got to the bottom of this. I've never seen the error you've experienced. When I cold start the car I typically wait until the revs drop before I back out of the garage. That usually takes about 20 seconds.
