Hello! I'm mainly looking for opinions on this CV boot noise, as well on my situation as a whole..

Starting last week I began to hear a noise similar to driving on a flat tire coming from the driver front area. The noise is only noticeable when doing tight left turns (80-100% angle), sometimes right as well but I was not the most concerned. On the other hand, the car only has 23,000 and is two years old - it should not produce a noise as such. After doing a little research I seen how common it is for rocks to enter our brake shield, so that was the first place I decided I would check.

I pulled the car into my shop where I have a lift, removed front wheels and low and behold... no rocks. Brake shields are producing no noise, however I was able to produce this noise with the wheel on / off and turning the wheel 80-100% to the left.

I decided that being under warranty I would take it to a Honda dealer.. bad idea. They diagnosed my issue as the passenger front rim being bent (its been slightly bent, I installed and balanced my own tires last week) and as a result of that it bent my PF brake shield. That being said, they "bent the shield back" and I am now responsible for the diagnostic fee as it is not a warranty issue. My first wonder is how would a metal splash shield produce such a noise on the opposite side?

I went to pick up my car, drove it to confirm it was fixed before handing over my card and the noise was still present. Drove with the manager, then master technician and both confirmed they heard it and offered to take the car back in to lube the boot. They have been shady in the past, but this was the nail in the coffin for me. I simply do not trust them.

I took my car to another dealership (not honda) where a close friend is an experienced tech, and the noise was exactly the same in the video above. He diagnosed it as an axle (shocker right?) but I'm hesitant to take it to another Honda dealer where they will not diagnose it as such, charge me a diag fee and not replace the axle.

That leads me to ask, has anyone experienced anything similar?! Am I being hyper observant? I believe I am going to take it into another dealer tomorrow and see what they say, but figured id ask around here first.

Dealers shouldn't charge diagnosis fees for legit warranty concerns. If dealer management doesnt refund, contact Honda corporate.
My thought is a bad CV axle. Bad CV joints usually sound like steel balls clacking while turning sharp, but those are under load. The axle in your video appears unloaded.
