They would probably make more if they upgraded the exhaust.
Coming from the VW world, upgrading the cat back didn't make much of difference there as well in terms of HP, at least to 500 hp, don't think many did a before and after reaching those levels.

It really depends on the setup and how much air it is moving before an exhaust becomes a restriction. But most people are running a stock turbo so there really is not much to be had either way.

Since I recently installed the Eventuri intake, I’d thought I would provide some feedback regarding in cabin sound. At idle, it is no different than the Spoon drop in filter I had previously. With throttle, it is slightly louder. The nice sound from videos with the hood propped up is not what you hear behind the wheel.

agree but with the PRL HVI.

Very transparent mods until you get on it in 3rd.

Do you hear a sort of whistle/high pitch whoosh sound during induction? I hear that as a precursor to the typical turbo sneeze/whoosh sounds people show on here when shifting. I can't tell if I have a leak somewhere or not - I already made sure all my connections/couplers were to german spec - gutentite.

I’ll have to listen for it this weekend when I drive it. Also hoping if there is, I can hear it over the Apexi exhaust when it goes on this Sunday.

I have a Borla exhaust on my DE5 and I can still hear that sucking in noise I referenced over it (whether its normal or not). I'm pretty sure the APEXi is supposed to be quieter.

PRL

Inlet to HVI has resulted in significantly more intake noise than the K&N filter I had originally.

Enough so that I didn't need to tell the Mrs it was installed and she knew before I got to 4th gear.

Factory exhaust is deeper also...

Open element filter for the noise win! I love the hissing noises, they are pretty loud when gunning it.

Ok, so the hissing is normal then under hard load.

The CAI on my previous NA cars all sounded different so I wasn’t sure if I just didn’t tighten a clamp/coupling well enough.

Yeah, the intake hissing is unlike anything I'd heard before.

PRL is pretty loud. I think it's the extra duct contributing on the driver side.

Also keep in mind that the car is limiting boost in 1st and 2nd gear which I think lessens the BOV style noise you get in higher gears.

Alright, definitely have a whooshing sound in fourth gear after throttle off. It’s still not very loud but I assume it’s better sounding with the windows down.

Two days ago I was walking in my neighborhood and spotted a CW FL5 ready to parallel park on the street. Every time the car stops, I can hear whooshing sound. I spoke to the owner (if you’re on this forum, hello again), he told me it’s just the PRL intake. Just surprised to hear it in first gear and low revs.

I’m still content with my purchase. Just thought I’d share since others here are more into the sound of the intake.

It's been a while but for anyone interested in the Infinity Design intake, they've started shipping them out slowly. Still no direct link to order on their website, so you have to email them. Their carbon inlet is also available to order even though it doesn't appear on their website. You can also choose between gloss carbon or matte carbon.

Any idea on how much the inlet runs for?
