Decided to see how other cars are doing and uhh, this might not be good for the si. Even though its a limited edition.

This will have a negligible effect on Si sales. If anything it’ll force Honda to add more standard equipment back into the Si.

true it wouldn't but the autobahn with a 31k msrp would be tempting

I was excited to test drive the 6mT GLI back in 2020 cause it’s great on paper and much cheaper than a GTI. But when I test drove it I didn’t like it. You sit up really high like an SUV and it just didn’t do anything for me. The Si feels much lower and sportier, it was just way more fun and involving, even though it felt a little slower.

I don’t really like the GTI either but liked it moe than the GLI.

Similar experiences with VW. I rented a VW Golf a year ago for work and lived with it for a week. A few months later, I test drove both the Acura Integra and a Sport Civic Sedan. The Hondas drove way better on the road, enough to give me an emotional response ("Dang!"), while nothing from the VW.

The VW, while not a performance option, "felt like MQB". Matt Farah said somewhere that all VW's drive the same because of their common platform, and I wouldn't doubt it after test driving that Golf. If that Golf had a better engine and tighter suspension wouldn't really tempt me into buying. VW reliability doesn't tempt me either.
