Couple of things:

1. Registration is closed. We will not be reopening registration again for this year. If your friends want to come, they still can, but will not be able to attend the Banquet. If you want to drive in one of our official groups, but did not register, you may do so - but, you must sign a waiver the day of the drive!

2. If you already registered and want to add a guest and whatnot, then #1 still applies to you.

3. If you did not register/won't make the event, but want your t-shirt/swag bag sent to you, more information will be sent regarding that after the event.

4. Below are the updated driving groups. Changes are not permitted at this time. If you are not listed, please comment your name, or shoot me a DM.

5. If you have not prepped for the Dragon yet - you are running behind. Check your rotors/pads, flush brake fluid, inspect your tires, check your alignment, put that sidemarker back in correctly, make sure your splitter won't fly off, don't ignore that slipping clutch, check electrical connections and/or hoses, make sure all suspension components are tight, etc.. TLDR: make sure your car is mechanically sound before bringing it to the event. Things happen of course but it doesn't hurt to be as prepared as possible.

Saturday there's traditionally a rally at the Fontana dam for a group photo before driving groups head out. Folks usually run the Dragon and loop back to Deals Gap via the Cherohala Skyway with stops for lunch and at the Killboy T-shirt shop and/or 129hub.

Groups are split up before hand by the pace drivers of are confident in running. Slow medium and fast. While we're up there to have fun, we encourage everyone to be safe and NOT push beyond your comfort, as well as maintaining proper mountain etiquette

For clarification, do people usually just make a 1 way trip through the Tail of the Dragon and continue on to the Cherohala Skyway?

This is a loop a lot of folks take for simplicity and to make the car show, banquet in time

It's all really depending on the group leader. We have an earlier start this year. I'll be taking my group up and down the Dragon and a couple other roads as well

Another protip

Bring a wheel chock.

You don't want to put on parking brake with hot rotors. You can smear pads and cause rotor imbalance or they'll plain stick on

When I tell you this is the absolute last thing I would have thought to put on my list, I’m not lying. Track days I used to put a jack stand behind my wheel but I won’t have those in my trunk while out driving.

Good call

How do you get out of your car to put this thing behind your tire without using your parking brake? You could shut the car off and put it into gear, but at that point the gear will keep you in place anyways.

By doing just that, turn it off and put it in gear. The chock is nice to have for the possible inclines you may park at in the mountains.
