What did you do to your FL5 today?

Since the Voltex wing didn’t come with any instructions or illustrations, I just made my own guesses on where certain pieces would go. Well, I was wrong. Called up Evasive yesterday evening to ask why the bolts are so short and how threading the washers and nut was virtually impossible, they made a suggestion based on the pieces I was describing.

This morning my friend came back over to help me, take off the wing, the stands and redo the install. This time I placed the rubber piece in the slot created by the removal of the OEM stand, and suddenly the bolts were long enough for the washers and nut.

This wing is never coming off. Till death do us part.

Looks gorgeous! Definitely worth the wait on that wing.

Type 5 is even more “GT”. If that’s a thing but you’re gonna have to do more to your car to compliment that wing. I ordered mine through Evasive.

If I recall correctly the FL5 exhaust is made by Tomei USA which is not associated with Tomei Japan. So most likely a chinese product.

I think their licensing agreement ended in 2019.

It doesn’t actually say anywhere on the box, paperwork or exhaust itself, but I’m pretty sure it’s made in China. In any case the quality seems very good based on my inspection and pre assembly. The sound drove my decision to go with Tomei as I’m ok with loud and it has the tone I’m after. There are a variety of stories floating around about the split of Tomei USA and Tomei Japan and honestly I’m more concerned with the product itself than which corporation is or isn’t involved, and where it’s produced. Time will tell if it lives up to my expectations but initial impressions of the quality are very good.

Thanks for the input. It's been my top choice because of the weight. I'm just going to hold out for the J's racing turn down once it comes out.

I run a tomei on my s2000 and so far it has held up very well. Even though it is a Tomei USA product.

Installed Intrgra Type S wheels. Stock CTR wheels now have RE71RS on them for autocross duty. I really like the color of the ITS wheels with Boost Blue verses the stock black.
