What did you do to your FL5 today?

Here’s a vid that gives a good explanation. It does absolutely nothing for chassis rigidity but it does everything for taking NVH out of the chassis. I disagree with the post above. It certainly does improve handling over rough or uneven surfaces and even reduces noise coming through the cabin. It is definitely a damper for the chassis. I think it is a misnomer to call it a performance damper. It should have been called a lateral chassis damper

The tuning fork example above explains it (visually) nicely.

Also, when I test drove Shawn's car after I installed the parts I immediately texted him to say how planted and stiff the chassis feels, yet its so much less NVH than I expected when I had installed the stiff RMM, center lower spoon stiff plate, spoon springs and rigid collars. I 100% attribute that lowered NVH by the dampers

It’s really not that new. Lexus and other luxury car brands use it as OE.

Ok so performance dampers may be a misnomer then. These are more like comfort dampers. I read some comment in the Lexus forums and they said it does seem to decrease NVH, but at the expense of road feel for them.

Now that I saw the cutaway of the internals of the damper (shown I. The Lexus video) I can understand how it functions and does what it claims. It’s a low piston speed shock absorber used laterally for minute changes in dimension of chassis parts

Looks like the Rhino Ramps from O’Reily’s was good enough for the standard 11th Gen, but not for the FL5. They end up hitting before even making it on to the ramp. Ordered some new ramps that are longer with a lower profile angle.

Was going to buy Race Ramps, but saw a few reviews on these from people with an FL5 and Type S and it seems to be working great for them and don't break the bank.

I have the same plastic ramps as in your picture. I cut two 12”x12”x3/4” helper boards to place right before the ramp. Tires onto wood boards, then onto the ramps.

That was all it took for me to prevent scraping the flap thing that hangs down in front of the wheel

Had a few things get delivered today. Will hopefully get a chance to do something with my FL5 later this week to get some of these installed and hit up the shop for the Rigid Collars.

Should look back a page or 2 of the thread and see @getRIGHT explaining how it feels with the addition of some supporting mods. I'll probably be doing a very similar setup.
