Not sure I agree with them on the transmission being “demanding”. In my opinion it’s very easy to drive and shift smoothly, actually easier than the GTI. Also, on the all seasons in Canada, the ride isn’t harsh.

Everyday Driver does a great job on describing driving feel and handling. They sure seemed to like the Si! I think it's the first review that has mentioned that it 'feels powerful'. Interesting.

I'm sure they'll do a comparison between the Si and the GTI, and from the sounds of it they'll probably pick the Si. More fun, cheaper, and no touch control ridiculousness. It will be interesting if they can throw the Elantra N in as well. They did a comparison a couple years ago and picked the Veloster N 1st, Civic Si 2nd, and GTI 3rd.

I don’t think they were saying it would be demanding for someone who already knows how to drive a manual, just that it’s not a car to learn on.

That sounds perfect for the target audience to me.

They have a TV episode this season that puts it up against the MK8 GTI. From the pictures on their Instagram, it’s a Autobahn trim level so not necessarily a fair fight considering that GTI is $11k more.
