You should consider getting one of these if you park your car for the winter or park it for long periods or have a lithium battery. A definite need!

Just watched your video. I have the older CTEK MXS 5.0 that I've used on previous cars. However, I never connected it directly to the battery, instead I used cig plug adaptor. I just tried using this method today, but it doesn't seem to work on the FL5. Wonder if you have tried using the cig plug adapter with any success?

It's all good. I ended up using the battery method. I had to put a notch in that red plastic cover on the positive terminal though. Not sure if you have the same experience.

BTW, I love all your Youtube videos. I was watching them before I bought my car and still continue to watch them. Tokyo Auto Saloon must have been awesome!

Update I ended up changing my ground wire to the chassis today rather than ground directly to the battery. Both options appear to be safe from all that I have read even on the CTEK website.

That's good to know they finally released a unit that does both lithium, leadacid and AGM. A year or two ago I needed this and they didn't offer it. I ended up going with NOCO 10A one instead. It also does 6V.
