You should consider getting one of these if you park your car for the winter or park it for long periods or have a lithium battery. A definite need!

I have never used the cig method. Sorry I couldn't be any help.Just watched your video. I have the older CTEK MXS 5.0 that I've used on previous cars. However, I never connected it directly to the battery, instead I used cig plug adaptor. I just tried using this method today, but it doesn't seem to work on the FL5. Wonder if you have tried using the cig plug adapter with any success?

It's all good. I ended up using the battery method. I had to put a notch in that red plastic cover on the positive terminal though. Not sure if you have the same experience.I have never used the cig method. Sorry I couldn't be any help.
