Separate question- of those running 265s on a 10" wheel, are any of you doing actual track stuff?

Just seems like a waste to stretch a 265 on a 10" wheel... unless you don't care about grip.

No track for me, just backroads and mountains. I care about grip, these are just fine for my situation, occasional spirited driving. On a track I would think a separate set of 18's would be best. These are hardly stretched , and at $200 a tire, why not lol

I was probably overstating, poor choice of words. By "care about grip", I was exclusively referencing track perspective. You're not going to reach the limits of the OEM tires on the street. Not a sane person, at least. I'm sure grip is fine on a 265 on the street...

I'm just looking at it from why choose a 10" wheel if you're not going to take advantage of the advantage? Availability I'm sure plays a role. And fitment... these things do look great, and no one can tell visually how wide the wheels are.

And finally yes, my personal frame of reference is 18s. I have a set of "god spec" CE28Ns in the garage right now waiting on 275 RE-71RZ... but I'm asking the question because I talked myself out of a set of RE-71RS I could have gotten weeks ago because they were only available in 265, and I just couldn't reconcile that sizee, which does involve track/autocross. Just trying to validate my hypothesis with forum anecdotes, that's all.

Also I think part of it is subconscious because I genuinely do not understand why people choose to swap for all seasons on this platform year-round. I think it that case it's justified with the "don't care about grip" assessment.

Utilizing the 19" OEM size which appears to be plentifully available for as low as $3-400 a set? Hell yeah, that's smart. I do it too with a dedicated set of 19s... but on 9.5" wheels and strictly for street use. ;)
