FL5 is stock other than RE-71RS tires when on track and the pad issue described below.

About a month ago I did a single track day. A few days prior to the event I installed R7 pads on the front. I followed Paragon’s bed in procedure exactly (I actually did the full bed in procedure twice). During the track day I developed a rough pulsating pedal that was tolerable under heavy breaking but worse under moderate pressure like during the cool down laps. Many on the forum have complained of uneven deposits causing this issue with Paragon pads so I decided to ditch the R7s and go with EBC SR11 (which according to EBC do not need to be bed in). Some have suggested you can install the SR11 and just drive the car until you get through the uneven deposits. I tried this for a few days but it did not feel like there had been any change. So, I decided to try what a few others had suggested and physically remove the uneven deposits with sanding. So, I removed both rotors and sanded both side with dual action sander and finished with coarse Scotch-Brite. Rotors looked and felt uniform before reinstalling. I reinstalled the SR11 pads and right out of the gate braking basically felt the same as before - rough and pulsing. Did a handful of heavy stops with no improvement. Rotors now look almost exactly as they did before the sanding - see pics.

What are my options? Continue to drive on the SR11s to see if there is improvement? New rotors? I have a track day on 5/1 so trying to figure out options.

You sir have found the weak link in the FL5 braking system, the rotors. Even though they’re a 2 piece unit the OEM rotor ring is prone to pulsing and hot spotting under heavy use. Consider getting Paragon replacement rotor rings, Girodisc rotors, or something from the JDM side of the world.

Anyone that says the stock rotors are amazing doesn’t drive their FL5 hard enough.

Took a minute to get all the deposits of mine after I went from paragon to SR11. It did get gradually better and now there are no pad deposits anymore. I say just keep driving the car with the SR11, specially get in the brakes when pads are cold since thats when they most abbrasive. I had R5 so probably easier to get off than R7.

Honestly don't think they are that bad, most people have no issues with this, the problem here are the paragon pads, deposits from paragon pads are a thing, happened to me and to a bunch of people I know/have talked to.

This could very well be a factor too,
