If the o2 is disabled then the readiness will never be READY on a obd2 check at a inspection place. So it would fail. If its just a visual inspection then it would pass with no problem
The failure on the readiness depends on your state. Texas allows 1 system in the "Not Ready" status.

So if anyone is worried about it, check with your local laws on inspections.

o2 disable will give you more than 1 not ready.

o2 sensor
o2 heater
catalyst

78

not sure about evap
Evap isn't affected by the O2 system. When they go in and disable the catalyst sytem in the tune, the heated o2 (which is the up stream or 1st sensor is never disabled) shows ready, as does the secondary o2 (it isnt really disabled, It's just disabled from throwing the codes for the catalyst system). so it'll still show ready for the o2 system and heated o2.

With the catalyst system disabled, both o2 systems will show ready. This is what we've had to do on the 86 platform, the WRX platform, and most every other platform I've ever ran a catless system on and have had them pass with flying colors every time

Yes, it will not be compliant with the law. Ktuner will tell you all day long it won't be compliant, as they should. EPA just busted Harley for that.

Can you disable the catalyst codes and still pass inspection? Yes. Disabling the secondary o2 only disables the catalyst system, not the o2 system nor the heated o2.

Welp, I hope you are right. I only have visual inspection in my state. So I never had to dealt with it. Guess someone has to ask what secondary o2 disable in KTuner actually disables.

Dang. If the stock downpipe is swapped in before a check, there shouldn't be any codes that would cause a problem, right?

Anyone know if running a ktuner tune with the code(s) disabled and the one readiness not ready would pass state inspection in PA? I don't live there now, but will be soon.

@SilverGhost, @hawk02 and @45Lexroc ... if you three are all waiting to see if it gets to the 20% discount. if you all ordered, we would all get the 20% discount. just saying.... help us all save another 5%. :)
I am aware. Waiting til Thursday to make my final decision. Probably gonna go full race since we won't have to smog for another 6 years and I'm going to run stock muffler.

if you go back to factory parts then you have nothing to worry about

So, if youre running the catt

Why would the EPA attack such a small ma/pop type shop when there are so many larger companies doing essentially the same things (altering emissions) so much more frequently. Are Henessy, Rousch, Saleen ect. not doing pretty much the same thing as a company such as Evans, COBB, PRL or VitTuned? Just for a different brand of car? I did some quick google searches and it didn't seem as if it's put a damper on Evans business yet. I feel bad for the guy if it does. But, i don't think them going after one small shop is going to hinder an entire industry of aftermarket tuning.
