And I'm looking all over the whole country. On a few lists at smaller dealers for MSRP. But those dealers are telling me they are struggling to get inventory on just about everything at this point... so odds aren't great at the moment for me.

If you are looking to get a Type-R ,try to find a dealer that sold a few because not all dealers are going to be able to get them...thrust me

Yeah, a couple of them didn't get a single FK8 'R. The others around 1 per year... they are are lottos for me. But I'm trying for the Type R or GR Corolla. We'll see which one I can get first. Prefer the Type R given the choice though, I'll be tracking the car and think it'll be a better fit there.

Im happy that i live in Quebec,Canada for that,Im getting mine at MSRP...There is a law in quebec that you can not sell over MSRP

But I also heard they can add-on anything they want, like $2k bumper applique, $3k leather protection, or $10k golden shower?

False!! no dealers in Quebec will put a single add-on on a Type-R unless the client ask for it..

At my dealer (Where i work) the only thing we do is like on the new Civic 2022 ,we will put the HPD kit for showroom only or sometime tint the windows ..but that's it

Anyway all FK8 we sold were sold before they arrived,so no shit was put on the car to make profit

I think it will vary between dealers. One dealer where I have a deposit, they have $3700 CDN worth to add ons (ceramic coating, undercoating, premium paint).

I have a deposit at another dealer, and when I initially contacted them they said MSRP plus regular fees and taxes, unless I wanted the add-ons.

Head over to the bimmerpost forums for more info. Cost will be likely 65-75k before taxes depending on options. Clearly a different league to the ctr from a cost and performance standpoint.

Looking at how the m3, m4 and cla45s is optioned, theyll be in the mid 70s. Least the type r will be a useful hatch. It will spend most of its life in city traffic.

Its amazing all the posters pumping other cars and bitching about issues the week of the release, lol.

M2 is $80k after tax / fees and is a completely different type of car meeting a completely different want. Nobody here really cares - keep it to the beemer feed.
