Any reasonable Honda fan would agree that his speculation is more likely to be true than yours. And it’s a fact that a bone-stock 10-speed 2.0T Accord is quicker than the FK8 CTR in a straight line.

I’d say that is dependent on the drivers ability to launch a vehicle, but I’ve seen this race from a roll and it is not close to even.

Why do you say easier to get? Do you think itll have mark ups?
Just from my experience this week trying to get a top spot at the largest dealers it was a breeze vs Honda.

They didn't ask if I had a trade in, didn't ask me to commit to packages and just moved forward garunteeing me #1 spot in writing with my $1k deposit.

I was shocked how easy it was. Seemed like they were just happy to get mime and my friends business.

Not sure if that will be the case in the US. But financially speaking, I know Acura is doing one of the worst in this current climate, especially their sales people.

Yup, reaction time, launch, traction in the 1/8 mile determines winner. Not even power. From a highway roll I'm assuming the FK8 pulls a few car lengths?

If I'm not mistaken when the Aspec and SI were dynod they were identicL no? I remember seeing that on YT some where. Maybe savage geese channel?
I though I watched a video that showed the Integra had a bit more power? To offset the weight difference. I could be wrong but that always seemed to stick in my mind.

As far as the performance difference between a Teg S and a Type R I’d say that too would come down to weight. The Civic doesn’t have anything really trick in it accept maybe the front suspension. I can’t see why the wouldn’t put that in the S either. And if Honda is going to start throwing DCT’s at cars the S seems like the logical place to start.

I don’t think Honda is as worried to out shine the Civic as much as people on here seem to think but only they know. I just think the added weight of the luxury and possible DCT, and say maybe a smaller turbo is not going put the CTR behind performance wise. I also can’t see why they couldn’t and wouldn’t end the ICE era with a full fat ITR. Say a carbon roof and some M3 sty carbon buckets with light weight this and that….?

I have no issues with either transmission tbh.

My only issue is, if the choose an auto it better be a damn good auto. I get serious RoidRage (lol) when an auto doesn't do what I want it to. In most cases I need it to operate as closely to the ZF or a DCT.

I'm not sure Honda has an auto to that caliber though. But then again I have 0 experience with JDM autos.
The ZF should win a Noble prize it’s that good.

My 340i Mperformance was so much fun to drive with the ZF. I swore I’d never drive a stick again then I test drove the FK8 and I can get behind that stick all day long.

I vaguely remember the same, as in the teggy have equal or more power on the dyno (that specific dyno on that given day). I just dont remember which YTBER made that video.

Agreed on all other points.

I think he is referring to it being built in the US vs Japan, and that making it easier for the American consumer to find, than a JDM low volume special. Some have also said Acura needs sales and would be much more likely to sell at MSRP, but I’ll believe that when I see it.
Is Acura NA only?

Damn, I honestly think I might do that as a proper backup plan, since I could be #1 on the list ? I really wouldn't mind the Type S over the CTR or vice versa. Theres a really good chance the Type S will have the K20C1 so that would be amazing.

I just don't know if I can get a CTR, since its just a waiting game from here on. Can't hurt to hit up an Acura dealership and just get a spot secured now.

If the deposit money isn't hyper critical to your finances, I would use it to hedge your bets against the CTR.

Worst case you just wait lol. News will break on the S before you probably will even get the R (if you get one). That's my justification anyways. Atleast now you will have 2 horses in the same race. Pick and choose once more and better clarity is available.

Firstly it’s built in America specifically for America, it won’t be sold outside North America. Acura won’t artificially limit the amount they want to sell. They’ll sell as many as the market demands.

it’ll definitely have markups but will be more easily available at MSRP after the initial hype(reference the TLX Type S)

Acura needs the “Type S” brand to become a thing so they’re a lot more interested in shifting as many as possible. They hope that soon it’ll be in the same conversations as performance arms from other luxury brands.
