I had agreed to a $5k markup last week, but helped my dealer locate buyers for the other two FL5s they were allocated. I attempted to get some extra action out of my deal this past weekend and the new car Sales Manager came out to explain to me why he couldn’t play ball. Take this with a grain of salt..

Apparently the reason they were selling the SGP, CW, & BB for $5K ADM is due to AutoNation Corporate capping the ADM the dealership is allowed to place on the vehicles.

The GM understands the L they’re taking by being capped so he won’t accept anything less than $5K per vehicle.
Oh, that's interesting. I'm talking to an AutoNation dealer and they were initially asking $15k. I would have immediately purchased if they were only asking $5k.

Mhm, yeah. Maybe it’s only specific AutoNation dealers. Grain of salt my friends. Try AutoNation dealers first. Idk. Just putting that info out there.

@AspecR we all owe you beers for getting all of this info. Any way you could check this most recent batch of allocations for AL, MS, or GA?

This is in sync with what i have been told by those dealerships. They supposedly do not charge over msrp normally - that it's their corp policy -- so, when i started running into that 5k ADM, i questioned it and was told they are being allowed to charge the 5k for this car. When i called early on in mid-2022, my local autonation dealer had said that they only charge msrp and that they already had a deposit from a buyer. That was so early, and they prob made a change after that since when i later stated calling around to help other people, talked to 2 auto nation dealers who were "only" asking 5k over.

It's interesting that some of them seem to be able to charge more... so, i am wondering if they are just trying to filter out anyone who isn't in their geographic area, or if it was a policy change? Hope the ones that claim to be charging more are just bullcrapping.

I don't have any inside info at this point, but just wanted you to know that i have had multiple dealerships confirm a 5k limit.

Thank you for letting us know! Then, why do they tell us they are stuck at 5k...will they then be hitting us with those accessories when we get there?
Keep in mind I already signed the purchase sheet that shows what I'm agreeing to pay. Balance due $53,680 OTD.

Hopefully all them ADMs drop a bit after this morning's Type-S reveal. Acura dealers are already taking deposits on MSRP sales and the Type-S is gonna have much better overall option package.
ol fashioned competition, always a good thing for the consumer!

I’m not doubting what you paid pal, calm down

I’m just saying their cap isn’t $5k max on mark ups
