Glitchy Infotainment System with CarPlay and backup camera

I’ve read where there are issues with infotainment systems and CarPlay. I have noticed on mine that when I have CarPlay enabled and maps on the screen, when I shift into reverse and the camera comes on then I switch back to drive, the screen goes black, and I lose CarPlay. I can switch to the radio screen, but CarPlay screen stays blank if I try to go back to it. I have to either reboot the system (which usually doesn’t help) or most of the time I have to turn the car off and then back on which will fix it. I have also tried factory resetting it, but that doesn’t help. I asked my dealership if they could simply do a complete wipe of the infotainment firmware/software and reinstall. They said Honda does not give them access to that at the dealership level.

Anyone else have this issue?

I think you have to free up RAM. There are videos on youtube where they go deep into the infotainment and disable the onboard navigation since most people use carplay or android auto for their navigation anyways. What people are saying the infotainment becomes more responsive and faster and no more hiccups.
