So I would definitely check your PRL mounts, mine looks not good after 20,000 miles of driving on the street, never on the track..

Bonus points for the police car parked at the end of my driveway. When all you can see are a set of legs sticking out from underneath the car. I guess they were concerned and left after they saw me walking around. 😂

Follow up after a few days..

NVH went up a considerable amount with the Wunderladen RMM vs PRL and I love that.

Now.. there hasnt been any crazy rain to drive through but I have an Autel MK808s that I am going to keep in the car and whip out on days when it rains heavily. I imagine it could take some time to test out if this was the real problem (the mount) but the PRL mount looks awful to be honest. I need to email PRL and ask wtf caused that to happen after just 20k miles of street driving. Their mount on my FK8 was solid - never a problem.

Awesome, thanks for the update. Hope to hear some results after driving through heavy rain.

Its a stiffer mount so naturally NVH will go up (its normal) - that buzzing/awful sound only happens when driving through heavy rain and having wheel spin on the highway. I dont know if there are any issues till that happens again and I can test it out.

Well earlier this week we had some heavy rain and I drove in it twice and it seems to be resolved.

It is definitely related to the condition of the PRL RMM. No clue how it got like that with just street driving.

Have they done revisions of the PRL RMM or are they the same since introduction? I just picked one up because I didn't want a poly bushing (My STI is an NVH nightmare 😅 ) so I'm hoping that there was a rev since you've installed yours.

I never had issues with the one in my FK8 but I only had it installed for 5000 miles before I traded it in on my FL5. Maybe the shop screwed something up? I am not sure.. I wouldnt worry about it unless you start to get crazy reverberations while driving in heavy rain lol.

Well it rained very hard this afternoon and of course the buzzing isnt resolved with the new motor mount.. Its slightly better in that I dont always have to turn the car off and on again to make it stop... this is truly bizarre. I didnt have my scanner with me to run a log to see if its a sensor issue of course.

I did recently rotate my tires - unsure if that has any role in this 275/35-18s.

It 10000% feels like NVH from the mount but its not normal NVH - like it goes away when the car is shut off and then after turning on and driving its fine again till I encounter any slip while driving. I am stumped.

Again it’s probably resonance when everything is up to temp. One part gets excited and starts vibrating and transferring movement to other things that normally don’t experience those frequencies and then it stays until it’s all reset.

Just when we thought it was resolved. I asked my tuner about this issue and they said they never heard of these problems. Do you happen to have a resonated catback exhaust?
