Hi all,

Wondering if anyone knows what this stain on the cover could be from, I checked fluid levels after driving and it looked fine as well as looking for leaks but I didn’t see any. I did get an oil change a few days ago, so was thinking perhaps the tech spilled a little and I’m just being paranoid. I don’t smell a strong smell now but I did notice a light smell earlier which prompted me to check under the hood. Engine cap, dipstick are tight. No issues driving. Thanks for any insights!!

Probably dripped off the dipstick or new oil bottle. Rubbing alcohol should remove the stain, but don't get alcohol on the exterior paint.

I have found Dawn PowerShot to be a fantastic product. I usually grab it at Home Depot since they sell a multi pack and it is the plain scent. That would probably work well. I never like alcohol on plastics.

The best overall engine compartment cleaner I've used is S100 motorcycle cleaner.

It will not harm paint or plastics. I dilute it 50% with water, because I'm frugal and found it works the same. S100 is relatively non-toxic and safe for the environment. It's carried by most motorcycle shops and available online.

Looks normal to me. My hood has that same residue/flim coating. I just assumed it was moisture from the heat since uts humid here.

I never paid attention, to that stuff unless it smells or theres a clear leak going on
