  1. CEL code P0234 on my FL5

Factory exhaust is very restrictive. The turbocharger pre control is all based on modeled airflow through the turbine and out the wastegate, and since all values are modeled and not measured by sensors, if you make big changes on the system, pre controll can be way off, to a point that the PID...
  2. 90's Kid Dream Build

I have the MHI, it feels a bit laggy sometimes at the track but good for the street. I think I would try the rv660 if I could go back in time
  3. Next-gen Civic Type R will live on - even if as Hybrid or EV (says head engineer Hideki Kakinuma)

It´s complicated to keep emissions in check while revving high.
  4. 2023 Civic Si Spring Rates, Motion Ratio, Ride Frequencies, Autocross

Very informative post, with good information not just bla bla. If you look into the swift springs for the FL5, they are a little bit stiffer than what you considered, but still, very close.
  5. Installed SSR 19x9.5 et38 wheels, need a little drop for aesthetics, suggestions?

RSR coilovers have nonsense spring rates. I would go with swift, regardless of the budget, or contact RSR to see fi they can change the spring rates to something more balanced. Ohlins OTS coilover has good spring rates also. I like the fact that RSR can work with the stock ADS system but I...
  6. Head to head comparison of “off the shelf” tunes for a stock fl5 coming soon. (UPDATED WITH INTERIM RESULTS)

Most of the times they are not that smart. Most modern ecu's have flash counters, but not every time the dealer has access to it. Others have tuning protections, others have other forms of detecting tunes or flashes that didn't come from a factory tool. What I can tell is that every form of...
  7. Hondata FL5 FlashPro released

It is calculated. But it is very, very close.
  8. Hondata FL5 FlashPro released

The whole pops and bangs function respects many limits, one of them being 930 degrees celsius on the cat. So it is cat safe. For the same reason you will notice pops going away when you beat the car a lot.
  9. An in-depth talk about FL5 ECU tuning

Last time I asket it was not a priority, but next time I have to call them I will ask again.
  10. An in-depth talk about FL5 ECU tuning

If you want to do it for the fun of the process, I am here to help! What I say is that if you want to do it because you want the best results possible quickly, I am here to help too, but also warn you that it is a slow process and other paths should grant you a better result quicker. Either...
  11. An in-depth talk about FL5 ECU tuning

Motec for the K20C1 exists, but for the FK8. They need to get the can integration ready before release it to the public. But in the end, what do you think is lacking on Hondata for your use?
  12. An in-depth talk about FL5 ECU tuning

It is a bit more complicated then that. Even you have a lot of experience in engine calibration, it is very chalenging. But of course it can be done. I just would not start with a 2023 car with an ecu that has 3 decades of stuff piled up into over 30.000 maps. To understand the process the...
  13. An in-depth talk about FL5 ECU tuning

The piggyback solution os very simple. it can be done in may ways, what I want to do is fit everything inside the ADS module, and control it over the car's existing can network. but it could be done much much simpler. As simple as replacing the resistors with trimpots and tuning the shocks...
  14. An in-depth talk about FL5 ECU tuning

yes, this is part of the reason I am building that can bus board I postes a few posts ago. I will see what I can do from that… perhaps mimic the “pedal dance” signals to disable VSA easier. I am looking into the suspension module, so are a couple of friends, the main goal is to be able to...
  15. An in-depth talk about FL5 ECU tuning

Autotuner does support the FL5/DE5 ecu. A good hex editor. Friends working at Honda. Your own logging tool. But at this point it´s over a $10K bill just to start. If you are not in this market professionally, I would go with Hondata for sure
  16. An in-depth talk about FL5 ECU tuning

Not a lof of updates lately, wife is pregnant and we have a 1 year old girl, so not a lof of spare time. Either way, been working on a lot of cool things, one of them is a CAN LCD to display ecu data on a 5 inch touch sceen display, AND, another can module that goes on the engine bay, that gets...
