OP: Do you need the extra space and better gas mileage or not? If not, BRZ/86 all day. Or even a Miata as someone else suggested.
IMO, The 10th gen SI was a great value when you could get one at 21.xK +TTL. At MSRP I wouldn't have touched it. (FWD, meh motor, cheap feeling cloths in the...
Do we actually know they did that? Or are you just guessing?
MT actually has testing/correction standards.Unlike other people/publications.
I have a funny feeling if MT posted more favorable times, you wouldn’t be complaining.
to be clear, I have no doubt poor prep would hurt ET and 60, but...
irresponsible? Says who, you? Did you expect them to run it on a fully prep'ed strip in negative DA?
My issue is the performance (trap speed) isn't matching what power the car is suppose to be making. I'd like to see more data points, but something clearly isn't right.
It depends on where you are driving them. Fast cars can be more fun, but you really have to take them to the track to have any real fun with them. A lot of fast cars aren't that engaging to drive at 4/5/6th tenths. Fast sure, fun.. maybe.
A slow car can be driven closer to the limit on the...
Maybe the car enters a "dyno mode" when it detects it is on a dyno (using the wheel speed sensor data)? And this dyno mode shows a best case scenario (aka bullshit) for power output.
Total guess on my part, but I don't know how else to explain a car with similar weight, gearing, an additional...
Yep. The fact that it is, at best, marginally faster than the 8th Gen SI (in a straight line) is disappointing. Hell, the 8th gen was, basically, the slowest car in its class back then (GTI, MS3, Cobalt SS, srt4, etc.).
It's 2k and multiple features have been removed (heated seats, etc).
IMO the price is too high for what it is. It is almost as expensive as a GTI, WRX, GT-86, etc while offering noticeably less power and, most likely, performance.
Personally, I couldn't see buying this car at MSRP. Having...
The 10th gen SI and non-SI'are both running a TD025 afaik. The SI's turbo's have a different exducer (11 vs 9 fin) though.
edit:
The fact the press release has so few details on the SI motor is also very concerning. the 10th SI press release gave more of a breakdown on motor differences...
I was simply pointing out your questionable statement.
The interior does look nicer. That is usually what happens when a newer version of a car comes out.
As for test driving, the SI isn't out yet and I couldn't care less about the non-SI/CTR civic's.
