That's pretty darn good, if the EPA government ratings are truly done at 48 mph, besting them at 70 mph is sweet. Plus it was done in 19 degree weather , even more impressive.

That comes out to 6L/100kms which is really good. When premium unleaded costs $ 1.65/litre, x 55 litre tank, youā€™re looking at $90 to fill and be able to drive 916kms on a tank?!?! Is that right?

I don't know about those figures, but I never pay anywhere near 90 dollars to fill up my Si. We have a small fuel tank, I don't think I could go over 900 kms on a tank either. I've owned mine for 3 weeks and still getting use to mileage and range.

Typically costs me under $60 to fill with premium and I will get at most 700-750 kms on a tank. Iirc tank is 55 total, 45 main and 10 reserve. Thatā€™s 10th gen but suspect 11th is similar.

EDIT: I usually get 600-650kms per tank. The 700-750 is during a road trip with mostly highway, ie best case scenario.

Iā€™m not getting anywhere near that good of gas mileage on average. I have gotten 38 once but that was on the highway trip home from the dealer. However, I drive at 80-85mph for most of my commute thatā€™s up and down hills. I reset my trip computer right after hitting the break in period.

Fuel tank capacity from Honda.ca is 46.9L, which is the same as 10th gen. So a full tank can get you ~750km on 100% highway.

From this thread https://www.civicx.com/forum/threads/reserve-gas.12883/, the reserve tank is part of the total 46.9L, not an extra allocation. And it's around 5L or less, not 10L.

I do mostly city and usually get close to 600km a tank or 7.5L/100km based on the trip computer.

That makes more sense, I filled up today and it cost me around $55 , not a full fill but close. The emergency allocation never comes into play unless one takes it under the empty mark, so cost to fill is going to be based on about 42 litres.

I drove a few hours on the highway Friday, the meter was reading 41-42 mpgs, in frigid winter temps with winter fuel, and my Si runs at 2700 rpms on the highway at 70 mph. I thought that was really good, I do this drive 3-4 times a month for more than a decade now with different cars, and this has been the least amount of fuel I have ever used on this trip, so I was quite happy.

I expect it to be even better in the warm weather months, and when we switch off winter fuel. I am on winter tires right now too. I know the fuel meter isn't 100% accurate but I am too lazy to do the exact calculations so I will keep going by the fuel meter for my purposes. I do know that I used very little fuel on that trip , the least that I have ever used in the past. For the past 2 years I was doing the trips in a 2020 Subaru Impreza 2.0L naturally aspirated sedan, which I thought was pretty good, but the Si beats it by a good bit in terms of fuel economy.

Speed, hills, and low temp KILL mileage. Try the run at 65-75 and you'll get 10-15% higher mileage even in cold weather. ACC or CC also helps.

Iā€™m happy enough with the 32mpg. Still way better than my tuned MK7 GTI.

Currently running 6.5L/100km (36mpg) at just over 500km on car. Still breaking it in and very cold weather.

I completed my second 4-hour highway trip today, I got 5.7 L / 100 kms the first two hours, and 5.8 L /100 kms the second two hours, and this was in real crappy conditions -10 degrees C, winter fuel, winter tires, I was pretty happy.

Mixed highway and city. Sport mode only, some passive and aggressive driving. Been a pretty gnarly winter so that may affect the values as the heat system and defrost are on full time as well as more rolling resistance from the winter tires.
