So I traveled approximately 436 miles from MD to NC. Immediately upon entering the highway I reset the trip/avg MPG and wanted to see what this car can do. Snapped this pic at 397 miles. Average speed was around 70-75mph...Pictures dont lie and I am very impressed.

Same here on a section of drive from middle of MS to far north east of AL. Highest I saw on my current drive average was 46.2. I’ve got my 45mpg pictured.

^ Pretty damn good, both numbers, I tend to get between 43 and 45 mpgs consistently on the highway, highest I seen was 47, always driving 70 mph.

It’s crazy how awesome it is you can get 40+ when you need it or take it to a track day/street race and it still perform. Civics are great little cars!

I hate to be the bearer of (Potentially) bad news but Are you folks actually doing the math on your true MPG? This is for the very first tank of gas in my car. I purchased it new on a Thursday night and got gas a week later on Thursday morning. I do 50/50 city/highway driving . Digitally my car was showing 36.3 mpg for the trip (239.8 miles) but when I actually took the number of miles I drove divided by the gallons I put in the car my true gas mileage was 31.2 mpg. (miles driven/gallons added=miles per gallon) 239.8/7.666=31.28 (mpg) . I was actually driving the car very easy too.

Hummm, 397 miles but your fuel gauge says that it’s 3/4 full. That’s pretty good. I wonder what it is if you hand calculate.

Mine is actually not accurate by maybe 1-2 mpg. Every fill up I reset the trip and then I calculate it manually by dividing the total miles of trip by the amount of gallon filled up. So if it digitally says 30 mpg, in real life it would be around 28-29.

I use the vehicle fuel meter as a guide, to see if my mileage is going up or down or staying the same, even if it is off by 2-3 mpg's I still like using it as it is a consistent way to watch vehicle trends.
