Stay chill.

Best that can happen is hey... you're getting a CTR and here is the color. At which point a dealer can say I would prefer this color. A few days later after the dust settles... you know what you're getting.

What gives pause is that there are cars in Richmond. So this can happen differently. Don't get too hype, yet.
What I’m waiting to see, is if this best case happens, will dealers finally be given an official VIN to go along with it. Can’t do anything without that where I am.

I want one so bad... I don't know if this is crazy but I am picking up my Supra next week and if I can get allocation especially in white, do I dare trade in my brand new Supra for an FL5?

An fl5 is a lot more practical, but man do I love the supra

Why?

Fwiw I assume with cars being here... dealers would get one.

I guess because I live in an area where all dealers are first come first serve, no deposits without VINs… and the sooner these dealers have their VINs, the sooner they will allow customers to lock in a car, and the sooner I’ll know where I stand. I haven’t had the luxury of knowing I’m getting a Type R, minus the color, like a few on here. I’ve been waiting a long time, like everyone else, and it sucks knowing I could wait until right when cars start showing up to dealers, only to find out I was beaten to the punch by someone else…I’d rather know sooner than later. Does that make sense?

^ makes complete sense. In some ways being prepared by calling regularly (daily if needed) and knowing which location’s at the price point you are ok with is a really good thing. Just keep staying on top of it and you have great odds.

I feel your pain. But for what it worth I’ve been under the impression that I’m getting one for sure since January until a week and half ago. Now I’m not sure if I’m even getting one which stings pretty bad. At least your heart hasn’t gone all in on it yet to have it taken away cause you’ve never convinced yourself otherwise.

I really hope that we all get one and laugh at how mental we were about it. It sucks that the real enthusiast people about the Civic Type R on here are going to lose out to some casual guy that lucks into one and never gives it another thought.

Yep, that’s how I feel sometimes. That’s why I keep hoping these allocations will finally get pushed out with VINs, so I can immediately start hammering the dealers I’ve stayed in contact with, and prevent that very thing from happening.

I'm tempted to write a script that will scrape for this data...

I wish someone would hack the Japanese plant and release the data of all of the VIN#s, color, and destination for all of the CTRs like what happened to Ford with the GT350.
