Is it safe to assume that Type R's will not follow the normal monthly allocation list and will just populate in the system as they become available?

Normal allocation is on the 15th right?

Correct, also after this rollout some dealerships won’t get anymore and some that didn’t get during this rollout will get their allocation

Just got a call from a semi local dealer they just got a Champ White but ofcourse with that gnarly markup of 15k and like 2k accessories. OTD I'd be looking at around 69k. I cant justify that man lol.

Hello everyone new to the Civic FL5 world and 1st time Civic buyer.

Honda Dealer (Mc Grath Honda Elgin, IL) called me today to close out. Salesmen told me to close on this deal, too may inquires with counter offers. Closed yesterday with 10k markup.

Ocean Honda of Burlingame gave me a vin with my deposit, was getting updates that the car was in Honolulu waiting for transport that was BS
ETA was before thanksgiving

Learned today car was never built no idea if they will actually receive that VIN and MSRP + 10k was only tied to that VIN they will not honor it for another VIN

not sure if it was just to get out of my 10k mark up deal or what but got my deposit back

go to Fremont Honda now if you can...
their deal fell thru, so probably ready to deal.

I have a local dealer with a champ white inbound, offering a $5k ADM and that includes rubber floor mats, window tint, and paint correction.
The catch is they are going to raffle it, a $500 refundable deposit puts your name in the hat. Winner gets it for $49k, losers get their $500 back.

yea, but there are also dealers arbitrarily terminating written agreements...I think just have to show up and person to deal.

I think that is always the play. Any ADM can be walked down, and I think it is much easier to do so in person.

I think it also shows the individual is serious buyer and not just kicking tires...

I agree. 2 Texas dealers I contacted last week called me back this morning and changed their mark ups to <10k from 20+k. One sales rep told me that many, including the owner, considered unreasonable markups tarnish their brands. The car gained a lot of interests, but not a lot of people were qualified after credits were ran. It’s too much work for 1 car. They rather move the cars by volume.

I am sure many dealers will change their strategies soon.

Yeah. I hope they didn’t take deposits and THEN do this. If they decided this before taking a deposit and were transparent, then cool. Can’t say for sure. When they called me they were very clear with everything.
