I built a relation with my sales guy way back in 2017 when I got my type R when it was released. I texted him few months ago to see if I can get the new one that's coming. He said once he gets an allocation I will be the first to know. :) And yesterday was that day! Don't need to put a deposit or anything for me! CHAMPION WHITE

Nice, did he give you an ETA? Sounds like an official allocation.

Yes its an official allocation. He became the GM of the dealer and he found out few days ago and gave me a ring. Wish I can share the dates and price with you guys but He doesn't know himself. Just told me he got the allocation and I get to choose the color. We are guessing it be around 40k and with little bit of Mark up and I said cool.

Has anyone here already reached out to dealers in the metro Atlanta area? I've started reaching out and waiting on responses. Curious what to expect to hear back.

Not calling you a liar but it doesn't sound right. Dealers get what Honda sends them, they don't get to choose the color therefore you don't get to choose a color. when dealers get an allocation they see some basic details like obviously model, year, color etc.

U could be right. I don’t know. All I know is I asked for a white one in 2017 and I got it and I’m asking for another white one. Pretty sure I’m going to get it.

Been lurking here for a bit but I've decided to try and snag one of these if I can so I'll share my experience thus far. Up the in the NW seems like most dealers have no clue about the car yet and no waitlists, just the standard process of putting your name on a wishlist. I called a couple of dealerships that would be easy to fly to in the midwest, and had a fair bit more luck. In my hometown dealership I called, I was the first to call about the vehicle, but still no waitlist. I was forewarned about being prepared about the markup, evidenced by the price of the last one they had a year ago (which also sat on a lot for a decent bit). Another dealership sounded like they might be taking deposits and directed me to the sales manager, so still waiting to get a call back to learn more. And taken with a grain of salt, the end of the year is when some knowledgeable dealers said allocations would be expected to arrive.

Yeah, I’m not gonna deny anything, but I don’t see, GM of a dealership or not, how anyone has gotten an allocation yet for a car that hasn’t even been officially debuted. I have called over 40 different dealership, and not one of them has any kind of allocation. So not sure how one GM has a special line to Honda for one? But who knows.

understandable. I was surprised as you all are. My guy gains nothing for lying... hence why I trust the guy also my previous history with him has been positive.

They likely will try to trade to get the color you want if not allocated. Difficulty is CW is likely the most wanted.
