If you have an offer of 50 and your mind is made up I’d say take it and run. BUT, take it out on a twisty back road run first. I swapped drives with a friend with a E92 M3 on a mountain drive last year and was shocked at how big, heavy, and slow it felt compared to my CTR.

Doubtful that $50K offer was a serious one. That's an awful deal for someone as the FL5 has been a below MSRP car for several months now. Depending on tax rate, you can get this car for under $50K OTD. If the offer is in fact legit, you take it immediately and not look back.

My take: You're in it at least $56K, unless you absolutely hate the car and/or cannot keep it for other reasons, I would keep it. The expectations paradox is a real thing and I believe this is what has driven many very low mileage examples of the FL5 to change hands. Good luck and I trust the final result brings you peace.

I really appreciate that reply. The offer is 100% legit and he wants to come pick the car up when I am back from Cabo next week. I do not absolutely hate it... and I am still tempted to hold on to it. I have a lot of thinking to do this week to ensure I am making the right choice being as I picked up another E90 M3 I had planned to flip. Now have the SI on my life, Type R under it and the E90 M3 that I have been working on for the last couple of weeks. This was my garage prior to me selling the M3... I think it's the perfect garage to be frank. Just need to see if it's logical for me to own 3 cars and my truck.... Financially I am able to but that does not always mean it's the right thing to do.

Not sure how helpful this is, but I feel like I might have an anecdote you could relate to or at least find somewhat helpful.

After many many years of B5 S4's, in 2017 I finally purchased my first "dream" car, a Mk2 TTRS. This thing was everything I wanted at the time, last manual RS Audi and the unbelievable Group B rally inspired 2.5T. It was the end game Audi for me and I did everything with that car that I could as a daily driver. I even met my wife 3 days after driving the car home from the dealer in Michigan. I enjoyed the car as a daily for 3 years until I came upon a PTS RS3 in British Racing Green.

I had the RS3 for ~2 years and covered minimal mileage until I came across a R32 GTR and subsequently sold the RS3 for my second dream car. I used a Mk6 Golf TDI as my daily at the time. A year later, I traded the Mk6 towards a left over 2023 Crystal Black Pearl FL5 in April 2024.

I'd been targeting a FL5 since the day Honda announced they'd be available in the USA, and god damn was I smitten to have finally got one at MSRP. The FL5 was the first car since the TTRS where I had everything I wanted in a car and more - and the best part is "its just a Civic." I was truly happy with the CBP FL5 as my daily. I took it everywhere, did my first track experience with it, and genuinely loved every second with it.

A year and a half later I grew frustrated with other things in life and sold the car, NOT because of the car (I cannot emphasize that enough here). Selling the FL5 unlocked a ton of equity I had in it and allowed financial freedom in other areas of life. I replaced it with a Tesla. I'm even shaking my own head at myself for that purchase as I type this.

I had the Tesla from Sept 2025 until March 2026 when I replaced it with another Mk2 TTRS. I had the second TTRS for not even a week before thinking to myself "what am I doing with this?" It just didn't fit in my life whatsoever. And that's not to say it is a bad car, it's a great car and I had sourced an incredible example, but it just wasn't the car for me anymore. There was likely some rose tinted glasses from my time with one from 2017-2020. So, I made my bed and slept in it. I daily drove with the TTRS for ~3 months until last weekend when I went and bought a new 2026 FL5, and I am now offloading the TTRS.

The FL5 is such an incredible car and to me it feels like home. I will not let this one go so easily and plan to stick with it for a while to come as it offers so many things in such a fantastic "Does It All" package.

Make of that what you might with your desire to be back in a E90 M, I hope my ramblings are helpful in some way to your decision making process. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk

The guy is looking to use KeySavvy and get the deal done today. Drove the car last night with my wife on a date night and although it's not perfect, it's everything I need right now. Practical, fast, looks great, handles incredible... Might try to keep it and ALSO do an M3 build.
