anyone having the issue where your steering wheel gets stuck making it hard to make minor adjustments and making them dangerous please goto https://www.nhtsa.gov/report-a-safety-problem#index
to report this issue, once a certain number of complaints are made they will contact honda and investigate since a lot of us are having issues with the dealers even acknowledging this.

Yeah I do. It blows my mind this passed QA.

There's a thread over on the 11 civic site too titled "steering" under the complaints issues & problems topic.
This site won't let me link it properly. Backspace before the f in forum so there's no space in the link.

Just read the link above because I never heard of this, and I can still say I never experienced any of what people are describing, in my 2022 hatchback sport-touring. Bought in Feb of 2022, 13K miles, Drive highway ~40 mins per day minimum. Small adjustments don't stick for me, one of the smoothest cars I've driven so far, no drift at all and simply does what you ask it. Sucks to hear a handful are experiencing stickyness though, weird! Even seeing the video someone posted of a 2016 jerking its like yeah..I can single-finger drive the car and not feel anything people are describing...I'd say I'm a spirited driver, typically sport-mode peppy on the throttle after 20MPH and enjoying the stiffness of a strutbar etc. I feel if whatever is wrong, was to go wrong, it would probably had shown up for me by now xD

!!!!UPDATE!!! brought my car to the dealer today for my second appointment for the sticking steering and was told that there is a known issue now, and the fact that one of their service techs has the same car and was having the issue and they ordered his steering rack. Service advisor told me he was ordering a steering rack for my car (part is backordered which i knew) and that he would call to setup appointment once the part was in. He said that there is a service bulletin pending that should be out officially soon and more than likely a recall as well. Also told me their is a pending recall for the A/C condenser leaking that he would try to line up to get fixed when the steering rack is getting done.
Anyone having issues getting theor dealer to acknowledge this issue have them contact Honda of Bridgewater in Bridgewater, NJ. They know about the issue and are ordering racks. Hope this information helps everyone dealing with this. Happy New Year. Cant wait to stop hating driving my car every day.

Steering rack from new gen CR-V already recalled
This is patently not true. I checked CarComplaints AND the NHTSA site and there are no recalls for the 2023 CRV for steering.

Just read the link above because I never heard of this, and I can still say I never experienced any of what people are describing, in my 2022 hatchback sport-touring.
2022 Civic Touring Sedan from 2021. About 22,000 KMS on it and NEVER had an issue with it of ANY kind, especially not steering.

He said that there is a service bulletin pending that should be out officially soon and more than likely a recall as well.
It has been two months and there is nothing on the NHTSA site for TSBs or recalls so what is really going on here? Could it actually be operator error? Possibly. Remember that the supposed runaway gas pedal issues back in the day were actually poor floor mats and operator unfamiliarity with the vehicle. (Studies into almost all runaway acceleration have been found to be driver error from lack of time operating the vehicle in question. And as humans, we hate admitting when we are wrong so it never makes the news properly)

I have the same problem with my car. Every once in a while it gets stuck in the position i keep it in for a few seconds. It might be a feature for the lane keep or one of the other safety features. Hopefully they fix it whether it’s mechanical or software.

My car started doing this, only after the cruise control update at 20000 km. Seems to me, it may be a problem with a sensor that applies the power assist. It is most obvious at highway speed, but can be detected at any speed.

Blows me away how some twit on the other forum is calling this a "life hazard", people overreact to all the wrong stuff. I haven't even called the dealer yet, I don't want to be the beta test bunny. Worst that will happen is that I end up with arm strong steering. Or perhaps some cop will think I am drunk, it creates a little zig zag action when trying to go straight on days when it is bad.

My Si has the sticky steering issue too. Popped up at around 2k miles on the odometer. IMO so far I don't think it's a safety issue, more of an annoyance than anything. I'm gonna wait till Honda has a reliable and worthwhile warranty repair vs just throwing in a new rack and having the same issue come up again in another 2k miles.

I'm noticing a notchiness just off centre. I tried an Integra and the feeling was not present. I imagine the rack or electric assist system is to blame. I tired turning of lane keeping and steering assist but the feeling is still present. Curious who else feels this issue and who has had it corrected.

Definitely a notchiness in the steering just off centre. My 2022 Civic Has the problem. I'll be looking into getting it corrected as it drives me crazy on the highway. It's like a chipped tooth. Once you feel it you can't stop moving the steering wheel.

I don’t know why, but calling this problem “Sticky Steering” just sounds really stupid to me. Who came up with this? 🤣

Why isn’t it called “Power Steering Malfunction?” Sticky steering sounds like people trying to eat Dunkin’ Donuts while driving and their steering wheel is literally sticky, forcing a difficult emergency maneuver. Honda’s TSB : Clean steering wheel until no longer sticky.

Not trying to make fun of the problem itself.

It's weird, we've had two days in the 80's this week, and the stick has completely disappeared for me since the warm up. I'm wondering it the car has magically fixed itself or it's something temperature dependent?
