That doesn't really answer my question though.

I guess I'm asking if I buy the catback resonated version, could I retrofit a TSP downpipe later down the line

Yes, it will.

Their other version might be the “recommended” one for the TSP downpipe is all. Since the TSP DP sounds similar to OEM, they might suggest the non-resonated for the TSP DP is what I’m thinking.

A lot of misleading info going around. I was emailed to wait until the release in Summer time and told "No, don't do that 😝 . Please wait for the official release of resonated catbacks for stock downpipe. There is a reason why the release was staggered."

Now they say it is a matter of when certain options come online?

What if we want the "quieter" resonated version that is currently on sale but want to run it with the stock downpipe. Not sure why there is so much backspeak.

Notice how they said don’t do that, please wait.

They didn’t say it won’t fit.

this is fishy do what you want with your money but been around the sun a couple of times and when vendors play games like that kinda takes away from their product no matter how “good” it supposed to be.

It's getting close to April fools day. Vlad did say the lightest version is 70lbs. This could be a very good trolling for the FL5 guys lol

yeah, for that reason, I’m holding out. Might just wait for Remark to come out with their 3-tip titanium system….if that ever happens. If Invidia made the Q300, it would already be on my car. The 27Won system is the absolute closest thing to the Q300, which I loved.

yeah the q300 has always been a good exhaust for people who want a low rumble but very little drone. I heard the 27won sound clips and doesn’t sound much better than my old awe touring setup, unfortunately the exhaust sound on this platform is not much to work with. Either way sounds like a money grab so people will use their downpipes but i think a lot of people don’t realize that yeah you won’t have a check engine light if you use Hondata but you will never be in emission readiness hence never passing the obd test if you need one.

This is not the reason. We've never limited our products to work or not work with certain brands on purpose and I can't see us ever doing that honestly.

I know why customers buy the TSP downpipe. I don't know why they would buy RV6....
WHY ?

If you state a point of view without giving any reason, it is hard to convince people.

I was answering vlad question on why one would buy RV6 downpipe. I've got kuro with RV6 bypass valve attached to RV6 dp,fp going into boost logic exhaust. Don't believe you could do better lol
I've got RV6 R660AS with RV6 300 cell dp and fp, wanted to go with 27won catback with fp, but Vlad did said he don't know why ppl would buy RV6 dp... good trolling

In terms of design, R&D, source, manufacture, i don't see any 27won turbo can beat RV6

Having tested it myself I can tell you that is NOT the way to go. 😂

27WON is absolutely working a resonated "catback only" option for aftermarket downpipes beyond what 27WON produces themselves. I think the details beyond that are yet to be determined, but you can rest assured that they are working hard for the best solution for each build(as much as reasonably possible) and are not simply releasing a "once size fits all" option and wishing you the best of luck. Patience will pay off in time.

I think a lot of us are confused as to why there needs to be different options. Shouldn't all aftermarket downpipes be identical in terms of fitment?

It seems designing to the original OEM downpipe would make the most sense as that is probably what I would estimate 60-70% of the market is running. If it sounds different with the 27WON or other aftermarket downpipes that is a given due to the significant differences in flow. Trying to tune the sound with 3 different resonated or non-resonated options seems super confusing for buyers.

Just added the "Turboback" version to our website for the Canadians :)

https://unity-performance.com/products/27won-valved-exhaust-23-civic-type-r-fl5

For anyone wanting 27WON Downpipe reviews, I've been running it on our FK8 for 1.5 years, and our first FL5 ran it for 6 months as well when we had that car. No CEL's with either, all the shields and brackets go back on.

Our current FL5 has the prototype 27WON exhaust that mates up to the stock or other aftermarket DP's.

So it does fit but bad drone?

You make it sound like at least 3 different 27won catbacks are coming?!
