Were you like this guy?20-24 mpg is what I'm seeing so far. Today was the first day I actually floored it and WOW this car has so much power through the entire range.
literally me a few hours ago. This car is just so good! Were you like this guy?
What’s the break down in terms of percentage of highway and city? 14 does seem low. Tire pressures? Keep in mind that winter gas blends typically net lower MPG’s as well. I recommend resetting the computer and taking a long drive. Do you idle the car often?did anyone else experience terrible MPG while breaking in the FL5? I was averaging 24 on my FK8 but now im around 14 with the FL5. Wondering if it’s just a break in period thing as I got my FK8 with 5k miles but the FL5 is brand new.
I’m at about 170 miles in with the car and I would say 130 Highway (80%) and 40 city (20%). I only idle the car for 10-15 mins to make sure it’s heated up since it’s a bit colder in NY at the moment plus my girl is anemic so getting into a cold car is a big no for her. Tire pressure is all good I double checked incase the dealership didn’t correctly check. I only put in 93 Octane, I’ve only filled the tank up once so far so on next fill up I’ll reset the computer and take a long drive since I gotta go to Jersey to get the car detailed, some PPF and Ceramic Coat. What’s the break down in terms of percentage of highway and city? 14 does seem low. Gonna give it a go prob this weekend when I go out for dinner with the lady for Valentine’s Day, would of loved to just hop on the highway sooner but we got hit with a snowstorm couple of days ago and I live in a secluded area so the plow trucks never hit my street. But based off the computer I’m around 13.8 but based off my math I’m around 14.4 for MPG. Maybe the winter blend near me just sucks that bad at shell I’m not sure, I might hit up a different gas station on next fill up and see if there are any differences.Start the car, crank the heat so the temperature is fine inside and go, 10-15 minutes seems like way too long.
Are you actually calculating your MPG by dividing your distance by fuel?
Turning 3k at 80 gets me around 24-25mpg. But it's tough not to hit triples when passing slow vehicles.Man…I guess I’m doing it wrong. If you’re driving “right” on the highway (so you only get ~17-20 mpg), you risk getting a major speeding ticket. What are y’all doing? Leaving it in 4th gear while doing 80 mph?![]()
