I've been on the forums peeping around for a while and finally getting to posting my adventures on here,

I want to share my journey and review some of the mod's I've done so far. I do all my own work, oil changes, installs ect.

The first thing I done was get a full ceramic coating!

PRL Intercooler was the first hard-mod; the bumper on the FL5 was not hard to remove which is nice since I've worked on a FK8 and that was just horrid to remove; The intercooler upgrade is just massive and screams race car lol; I'm still waiting for PRL to release their charge pipe kit.

11th Gen Honda Civic 90's Kid Dream Build image6(1)

TSP High flow catted downpipe was the next mod I did; along with the PRL drop in air filter. The down-pipe was the most noticeable in power gains on the butt dyno; I always recommend getting rid of the OEM studs and bolts and go with RAMPAGE titanium replacement kit (At least have it handy in the event you break a stud/bolt during removal)

I love the look of the FL5 OEM wheel but hated the tuck it had; +15mm Bonoss 7075 Forge spacers were the next thing to bolt on; I have yet to find a wheel I like so for now the OEM wheels will do.

11th Gen Honda Civic 90's Kid Dream Build image4(1)

When PRL release their titanium inlet kit; I jumped on it right away and also ordered P2R thermal gasket and more titanium hardware.

11th Gen Honda Civic 90's Kid Dream Build image02

Ended up painting the valve cover; I wanted the Spoon yellow but could not justify the price for paint and the Spoon yellow was just trending too much; everyone was doing it and it didn't feel unique to me so I opt for a nice candy red look. Installed with new OEM gasket because the old one stretch and leaked when I removed it. Opt in for some Chasing JS valve cover bolts; these bolts just look beautiful.

11th Gen Honda Civic 90's Kid Dream Build 1695431362510

The exhaust was too quiet; so PRL Front pipe installed with Hasport 70A rear motor mount; At first I thought the vibration would be bad with the 70A bushings but, it feels like OEM to me, a tad more vibrations but nothing extreme.

11th Gen Honda Civic 90's Kid Dream Build 1695431503133

To make the car more alive I opt in for the Apexi N1 catback; I want to retain the OEM exhaust valve since I hate drone; This catback hits all the right notes; quiet when daily driving and gets loud when your on the throttle.

11th Gen Honda Civic 90's Kid Dream Build image5(1)

-- Lately I've been focusing on dressing up the engine bay and; did the radium full setup; Coolant tank & catch cans; Chasing JS caps .. ect.
11th Gen Honda Civic 90's Kid Dream Build image2(1)

The two things I have yet to install; Sirimoto clutch damper delete and my Spoon FL5 lowering springs; I haven't found time yet, maybe tomorrow if I'm up for the task.

11th Gen Honda Civic 90's Kid Dream Build image2(1)2

Current future things I want to do is the RV6 drop in turbo upgrade and DW High pressure pump, DW in-tank fuel pump, upgraded injectors ect; My goal is to get to 500whp and be happy with it.

Few things I forgot to add; I got the ECM jailbroken within the first month I owned the car and its running on the 93 Hondata tune; I'm prepping the car to hopefully make the trip to PA to have Derek Robinson tune the car next spring.

Acuity shifter bushings were a great plus to add; really tightens up the shifting, YOU DO NOT have to remove the charge pipe to change them, Put the car in 2nd gear to change the big bushing; then put it in first gear to change the small bushing. The big one takes minutes to do; the small one requires a bit of a trick. I tied a string to the shifter cable, pulled it forward; install the bushing and retaining ring. Took me 30 minutes at most (due to removing the airbox)

Mugen Visors are nice; I must warn though they do add a bit of wind noise; not enough to bother me but you will notice it on the highway

More to come!

I finish dressing up the hoses on the intake side just to clean up the look today 9/23/23.

I’ve put off installing lowering springs since it’s such a pain in the ass; but I ended up finishing it up today. Spoon springs installed; it was easier than the Fk8 but still wasn’t entirely easy lol. 10/01/23

Alignment is done; with the spoon springs; ride is so much nicer, the drop is perfect and not overly aggressive.

I sleeved the brake booster vacuum lines too! Looks good; will do the other lines when I go do fuel upgrades.

How difficult to pop the stock bushings out and how did you package your ecu to ship?

Use a screw driver; stick it halfway into the oem bushing and just pry up; OEM bushing will just slide right out.

ECU I put it in a box and bubble wrapped it; UPS next day there; the same day they received it, they sent it back that very day with tracking; jail-broken and ready to go. I got it like 2 days later. Super quick service.

Very nice dude! I’m going for a similar type of build. Currently waiting on the downpipe its taking forever to get here. And then next month the Hondata. Not completely sure if I will upgrade the turbo.

Looking forward to what you do with it.

Thanks, I'm waiting for more things to be released; I got more titanium hardware coming next week to dress up the engine bay more_ I'd post that up once I get it done. I've been super impress with what the OEM turbo can do; it'll be my last thing to upgrade as I can only afford one thing at a time lol.

For the downpipe when you go remove it; soak those bolts and studs in penetrating oil. Make sure everything is cold to the touch then go and remove them(car parked overnight be better). Oddly whatever metals Honda use for the bolts/studs. They love to gall the threads when you go remove it so you'd strip/break the bolts/studs. Heat is not the answer here! Mine came out super easy this way. I've done 3 installs now including my own.

Yeah I’m switching out to titanium hardware also to prevent future issues not going to risk it. Just a few more parts and I will be happy. Then continue to my other projects.

Nice, thanks! I’ll probably send the ECU in next spring insured to the gills and do tge bushings when prl or eventuri get their act together and produce a meaningful intake.

Thoughts on PRL motor mounts?

I got the Hasport mount on sale for a lot less than what the PRL mount would've cost so I went that route. I'm big on performance over comfort so I don't mind the extra stiffness. Suprisingly I did not notice a big discomfort going from the OEM rear mount to the 70A Hasport mount, other than a little more vibrations at idle.

If you're aiming for more comfort I think the PRL mount would be better.

Nice, thanks - has it helped the driving experience at all? Did you get both front and back and would you be willing to post a link?

I ordered off Twostepperformance; I got just the back since I didn’t want to do the side mounts yet.

it has reduce a lot of jerking motion and absolutely don’t feel wheel hops anymore. Shifting has also improve as the engine has less tendency to to shift around.

Can you tell us about those DEI braided hoses you used for "dress up". I really like the look.

I use the DEI kit design for their spark plugs; 010475 is the part#; they do make them in like different length kits_Anyhow it says the ID is .5 inch but it can be expanded to beyond 1 inch if you need to or go even smaller than .5inch as the stuff expands and opens like a chinese finger trap(Best way I know how to describe it lol)

I only did the front section of the hoses because I intend to do fuel upgrades later and will do the rest of the rear hoses when the time comes; will look sweet.

Does indeed look nice and clean. So you just cut to length of each rubber hose, slipped it through and used OEM clamps?
